Test the solutions, all of Denmark depends on

You don’t notice it when it works. But every day citizens, professionals and authorities use digital solutions that simply must work. They do so because someone has tested them thoroughly before they went into production.

We are looking for more of these people.

At NNIT we develop and operate a number of critical IT solutions for a public client, and we are looking for more testers for the team. If you want to go to work and know that what you do matters to many people, this is a good reason to read on.

What does the job involve?

You will become a tester in an agile team with developers and architects, and you are involved from idea to release. For us, testing is not something squeezed in at the end. Quality is the whole team’s responsibility, and you are the one who sticks to it.

You will work closely with the business and have a lot of dialogue with the client. It is the client’s professionals who know what the solutions need to be able to do in practice, and you must be able to talk with them about it. The task is solved in collaboration between multiple suppliers and the client’s own employees, so you will have colleagues across organizations. It requires that you enjoy collaborating and that you are not confused by the fact that not everyone wears the same logo on their chest.

In daily work you will, among other things

• write test cases and conduct tests, both manual and automated
• build and maintain automated tests that run in the CI/CD pipeline and are stable enough for the team to trust
• contribute to defining the test strategy so that we test at the right levels, from unit and integration tests to contract-, end-to-end- and performance testing
• perform system, regression and accessibility testing
• test integrations and end-to-end flows across systems, also when something goes wrong along the way, e.g. timeouts and failures in background processes
• measure performance and load so we know what the solutions can withstand before users notice
• look at architecture and design and find where tests are missing before it becomes a problem
• acquire and prepare test data, e.g. synthetic or masked data, and ensure that personal data does not end up where it does not belong
• help plan and run acceptance testing together with the client and clarify acceptance criteria so everyone agrees when something is good enough
• document test cases, test reports and evidence and keep track of defects and quality metrics so you can always see what has been tested and where quality stands
• work according to the team’s Definition of Ready and Definition of Done and help improve the process

Who are you?

You’re probably the type who likes to try to break things and you can explain afterwards why it’s important. You prioritize your testing based on where the risk is greatest, not based on what’s easiest. At the same time you have an eye for both technical quality and business value. You can translate requirements and acceptance criteria into an effective testing effort, and you help create a structured approach to quality throughout the development lifecycle.

We imagine you

• speak and write Danish (most collaboration and documentation is in Danish)
• have experience with both functional and technical testing
• have worked with test automation
• have tested in an agile setup
• are good at collaborating and thrive on close dialogue with both the team and the client
• are thorough and take quality seriously, even when deadlines approach

It’s an advantage if you

• have experience as a test consultant
• have worked with or for public authorities
• have experience with AI-assisted development, e.g. using AI to prepare test cases or generate test data

If you have already tried your hand at some of this, we would love to hear from you: testing event-driven flows and eventual consistency, mock services and setting up test environments, debugging with logs, traces and metrics, testing login and access flows with OAuth2/OIDC, security testing according to the OWASP top 10 or simulating outages and instability. You don’t need to know it all from the start, but you should be curious and eager to learn.

You don’t need to be senior. We are looking for both those with a few years of experience ready to take the next step, and those with many years behind them as a tester.

Since the assignments are for a public client, you must be security-cleared.
