About the job

💪As our current SSA seeks new challenges in our newly opened department, we are looking for a new colleague 😊 Social and Health Assistant with a focus on rehabilitation

Do you want to help make a difference – one citizen at a time?

Omsorg Sjælland is seeking an engaged social- and health assistant who wishes to be an active part of our daily operations and at the same time take on a special role in the work with rehabilitation and professional development.

We are looking for you who are passionate about working with elderly people and who are motivated by training, mastery, development, and rehabilitation. You should want to make a difference – not only by solving tasks yourself but also by seeing the possibilities with the citizen and inspiring your colleagues to think rehabilitative.

With the new elderly law and holistic care, rehabilitation will have an even larger place in the daily efforts around the citizen. Therefore you will become an important part of our work in translating intentions into concrete training, mastery, and development in the citizen's own home.

You will also have an important task in identifying citizens with rehabilitation potential and, in collaboration with the rest of the staff and therapists, help create targeted rehabilitation processes.

You will become a central part of our rehabilitation efforts and will among other things

  • Carry out rehabilitative processes in collaboration with your colleagues, the area's therapist, and the citizen.
  • Support the citizen in regaining or maintaining skills and independence
  • Identify citizens with rehabilitation potential in daily care
  • Translate training and rehabilitation into concrete activities in the citizen's own home
  • Advise and inspire your colleagues to work rehabilitatively
  • Follow up on the citizen's development and adjust the effort in collaboration with the therapist, colleagues, and external partners at interdisciplinary meetings.
  • Focus on what the citizen can do, rather than what we can do for the citizen

You must be able to see the potential.

Maybe it's not always the citizen who says

“I want to train.”

It can be the citizen who suddenly can no longer rise from the chair without assistance.

Or the citizen who needs support to get out to the bathroom.

Or the citizen who slowly has begun to do less and less on their own.

Here you must be able to spot the possibilities.

Together with the other staff and the therapist you must help identify citizens where a rehabilitative effort can make a difference.

We are looking for you who

  • Have a relevant health professional background as a social and health assistant
  • Wish to work with elderly citizens and rehabilitation
  • Can motivate without pressuring
  • Are good at building relationships and getting the citizen on board
  • Have an eye for resources and possibilities
  • Can work independently and at the same time be a strong team player
  • Are curious and professionally engaged
  • Can observe, document and communicate your observations
  • Want to think rehabilitation into everyday life – not just as a separate training program

You will be part of an interdisciplinary collaboration

You will work closely with SSHs, unskilled with many years of experience, planning and management.

We believe that the best rehabilitation happens when everyone around the citizen works in the same direction.

Therefore you will also be an important sparring partner for your colleagues when there is a need to focus on the citizen's functional ability and rehabilitation potential.

At Omsorg Sjælland you will

  • Have an exciting and developing role in our work with holistic care
  • Have the opportunity to make a concrete difference for our citizens
  • Have close cooperation with the area's therapist, external partners and the rest of the staff
  • Have a daily life with variation and a high level of independence
  • Have the opportunity to help develop our rehabilitative efforts
  • Nice colleagues and a workplace where professionalism and collaboration are highly valued
  • Physically no weekend shifts, but part of the department's on-call schedule every 3rd weekend.

💥 Can you see opportunities where others see limitations?

Can you motivate a citizen to take the next small step?

And do you think the best training is sometimes the one that takes place in everyday life?

Then we would love to hear from you!
