Experienced permanent substitutes sought for Sofiebo and Visborggårdvej

Can you build relationships – and at the same time stay true to the professional task?

We are seeking skilled and engaged regular substitutes on 2-15 hours per week for Ungetilbuddet Sofiebo and Visborggårdvej in Aalborg SV.

With us, a regular substitute is not just an extra person on the duty roster. You become part of the pedagogical effort around young people who are in the process of developing skills and finding their way into adult life.

Therefore we are looking for you who already have experience from the pedagogical, social, or special pedagogical field, and who can take on the tasks with professionalism, responsibility and an understanding of your professional role.

You do not necessarily need to be a trained pedagogue. But you must have relevant experience and be able to translate it into practice.

What is the task?

At Sofiebo and Visborggårdvej, young people with different functional impairments live. They are at different stages of their development, but what they have in common is that they work towards as much independence as possible and a meaningful adult life.

It can involve everything from structure and daily rhythm to personal hygiene, cooking, cleaning, finances, social relations, education, employment and participation in leisure and community activities.

As a regular substitute, you must be able to enter the existing pedagogical effort and support the goals and agreements that exist around each individual young person.

That means you must be able to assess

When should I support? When should I motivate? When should I be clear? And when should I step back so the young person has the opportunity to succeed on their own?

You should not take over tasks that the young person can master themselves. Your task is to create the framework that makes it possible for the young person to develop new skills.

About the organization

Sofiebo and Visborggårdvej are part of Botilbud Aalborg in the Center for Life Power (Fagcenter for Livskraft).

We work from Recovery-Oriented Rehabilitation (ROR) and use among other things mentalization and LA2 as professional approaches.

This means that we are curious about what lies behind the young person's actions and reactions. We work with resources, motivation, coping and development and we also keep sight of our own significance in the relationship.

As a regular substitute, you are not expected to be an expert in all of our professional methods from your first shift. But we expect that you have a basic pedagogical understanding, can reflect on your own practice and are eager to develop your professional skills.

More about the job and your new workplace

You will be attached to both Sofiebo and Visborggårdvej and must therefore be able to work flexibly across the two offerings.

Working hours will primarily be in the afternoon, evening and weekend, as well as shifts in connection with holidays, illness and other absence.

We are seeking regular substitutes who after the introduction can enter the task independently and professionally.

That means, among other things, that you must be able to

• professionally engage in the relationship with each individual young person
• work based on existing pedagogical goals, plans and agreements
• observe changes in well-being and behavior and respond appropriately to them
• create structure and predictability
• motivate without taking over
• handle boundary-setting calmly and respectfully
• document relevant observations
• pass on important information to your colleagues
• collaborate with the regular staff and contribute to continuity around the young person.

We expect that you

• Have relevant experience from the pedagogical, social-pedagogical, psychiatric or specialized field.
• Have experience with people with functional impairments or other complex support needs.
• Can enter the tasks with professionalism – even if you work as a substitute.
• Have an understanding of professional relationship work and can distinguish between being personal and being private.
• Are stable, responsible and come to work with the capacity to be of benefit to others.
• Can maintain calm and overview when a situation changes or becomes difficult.
• Can work independently while also knowing when to seek sparring from a colleague.
• Can follow professional agreements while also using your own judgment.
• Can receive feedback and reflect on your own role in the interaction with the young person.
• Can articulate relevant observations verbally and in writing.
• Have initiative and can create meaningful activities together with the young people.
• Preferably have interests or competencies in areas such as sport, fitness, gaming, music, cooking, creativity or outdoor life.

Pedagogical education is an advantage, but not a requirement. Relevant experience is a prerequisite.
