About us and the task

In the Agency for Education and Quality we work to translate political agreements and legislation into practice, and to ensure that schools and educational institutions deliver high quality and comply with rules. We do this through the following core tasks:

• As a bridge-builder between policy and practice we ensure that ministerial support and sectoral backing are knowledge-based, have perspective and an eye for the whole.
• As an authority we support the sector in knowing and complying with the statutory requirements for their work as well as in organizing effective operation with good quality. We supervise for the sake of pupils and students. And we administer grants and support schemes efficiently and correctly.
• As a quality developer we stand on a foundation of deep insight into rules, knowledge and data. We translate legislation and political ambitions into content in subjects, tests and exams, as well as the structure of education. And we support the sector in turning all of this into good quality in teaching and pedagogical practice.

The Center for Primary School plays a central role in this work. We work, among other things, with the implementation of political agreements, rule development, ministerial support and guidance to the sector in the primary school area.

The coming years will bring a number of exciting tasks. Ahead of summer 2027 we will prepare for all primary schools to adopt new subject plans, just as we will contribute to the implementation of new rules on, among other things, absence and special education, prohibition of mobile phones, and the school’s duty of care and access to physical intervention. Other tasks concern a more practical school, the use of AI in teaching, and the implementation of initiatives in the government platform, e.g. a academic uplift in the 100 schools where students perform worst in Danish and mathematics.

About the position

We are seeking a number of experienced ACs with an interest in primary education. We are looking for generalists as well as specialists who have insight into primary education, children and young people in vulnerable positions, subjects and teaching, handling quantitative data or legal guidance. The common factor for the positions is that we need new colleagues who can lead projects, ensure progress and devise solutions to the challenges we encounter in practice.

Your tasks may include among others

• Project management and implementation of initiatives that aim to support quality in the country’s primary schools. This can include development projects that strengthen schooling for children and young people in vulnerable positions, digitization and AI in teaching, more practical schooling, or communicating knowledge about what works in teaching students with reading or mathematics difficulties. concretely, the project management task could involve entering into agreements with external partners, supplier management, ensuring progress, quality assurance, involving stakeholders and relevant professional communities, and communication targeted at the political level, municipalities and schools.
• Supervision of municipalities’ quality agreements with the special education offerings, where we continuously handle cases and at the same time develop the supervision.
• Strategic communication to municipal administrations focusing on clearly guiding on the rules and inspiring good practice.
• Responses to requests for access to information, press inquiries and inquiries from municipalities
• on the rules in the primary school area.
• Preparation of regulations and contributions to bills.
• Preparation of professional contributions to political proposals or responses to parliamentary questions
• Collaboration with partners and stakeholders in the primary school area as well as other authorities.

Depending on your experience you will have the opportunity to quickly take independent responsibility and specialize within different parts of the primary school area.

About you

You have a relevant master's degree, e.g. political science, sociology, educational science, anthropology, pedagogy, law or similar educational background. We would like you to have experience from e.g. central administration or a municipality. It would also be an advantage if you have experience with and/or insight into the field of education.

About the center

The Center for Primary School is responsible for the agency’s tasks in the primary school area (with the exception of, among other things, tests and examinations). The center is organized into five teams with two heads of office. You will become part of a team with a team leader as your line manager and will have close cooperation with colleagues with different professional backgrounds.

Salary and terms of employment

You will be employed as a Grade 4-7, specialist or principal consultant under the current agreement for Academics in the state between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations
