At Spangenberg & Madsen we are seeking an experienced HVAC engineer who will help design and develop technical solutions across our construction projects.

Technical advisory with high professional expertise

Spangenberg & Madsen has advised on technical solutions since 1905. Today we work with specialized consultancy within construction, industry, infrastructure and utilities.

HVAC is a central part of our expertise, and you will work closely with colleagues in electrical, fire, security, energy, indoor climate, sustainability and BIM.

Your role

As an experienced HVAC engineer, you will be a professionally important part of our projects.

You will work with HVAC and plumbing installations on projects in both new construction and existing buildings and have the opportunity to follow the projects through multiple phases.

Depending on your experience and interests, the role can develop in the direction of, for example, technical lead, design management, specialist tasks or larger client responsibility.

Your tasks may include

• design and dimension HVAC and plumbing installations
• develop solutions within ventilation, heating, cooling, energy and indoor climate
• prepare calculations, descriptions and tender materials
• work with BIM-based design and cross-disciplinary coordination
• quality assure and review technical solutions
• participate in project and client meetings
• advise clients, architects and other partners
• follow up during execution through technical supervision and dialogue with contractors
• contribute to bids and the early development of the projects.

Who are you?

We are looking for experience and professional depth rather than one specific education path. You may, for example, be trained as an engineer, mechanical engineer, mechanical technician or have another relevant technical background.

We imagine that you

• have solid experience with HVAC/plumbing design
• have a strong technical understanding within, for example, ventilation, heating and cooling
• can drive your own professional deliverables and take responsibility for quality
• have an understanding of the interplay between installations and the other construction disciplines
• can communicate technical issues clearly to both clients and colleagues
• are eager to share your knowledge while being challenged by other specialists.

It is also a plus in our book if you have experience with Revit, BIM and relevant design and calculation tools.
