You will be overall responsible for the newly established Facility Management area, which brings together building operation, cleaning and timetabling across all UC SYD campuses in Esbjerg, Kolding, Haderslev and Aabenraa/Tønder.

You will be responsible for approximately 65 dedicated leaders and staff who need a new and capable chief.

You will become part of UC SYD's overall management and are expected to broaden your horizon and bring the area's knowledge of buildings, operations, service and everyday life into the organization's overall development.

You must, through present, clear and inclusive leadership, unite very different professional disciplines and local cultures around a common direction and ensure stable, professional and service-oriented operations that support students' everyday lives and employees' working environments. You must develop the collaboration between the local campus environments and the shared functions, so proximity to everyday life is combined with stronger common concepts and standards.

At the same time, you must strengthen the long-term building operation through planned maintenance, investment plans and clear prioritizations, and drive a practical and realistic development of the area through digitization, AI and technological tools. It requires that you, with respect for an area with a good working environment and great professional pride, have the courage — with an expert leadership hand — to set direction and create follower-ship for change.

You will collaborate broadly – with management, leaders, educational programs and campuses. UC SYD is an organization where collaboration, involvement and cohesion are central concepts, and where good physical frameworks, operational reliability and service are crucial for both the many educations, for student life and for the essential collaboration that takes place across.

You bring solid leadership experience from a broad operations, service or facility management area – also with leadership through others – as well as with insight into building operation, finance, supplier management and green transition. You have experience in leading changes close to daily life, good technological understanding and insight into the conditions of a larger, publicly governed organization.

You have a leadership style that builds trust through presence and respect for different professional cultures, where dialogue and participation have real significance, and where you ultimately dare to make decisions and maintain priorities.
