About the job
Do you want to lead the processes that consolidate Vordingborg Municipality's budget and budget follow-ups? And do you thrive in a role where you create an overview, ensure progress and make complex financial material usable for colleagues, management and politicians? Then you can become our new professional coordinator in the Budget and Steering Team.
A central role in the municipality's financial management
As budget coordinator you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the municipality's central budget and budget follow-up processes. You must create a clear framework for the processes, keep track of deliverables and deadlines, and ensure that the organization's contributions are gathered into a solid basis for administrative and political decisions.
You will also become the professional coordinator for the Budget and Steering Team. The role does not involve personnel responsibility, but you will have a clear responsibility to coordinate the joint tasks, support the professional quality and be a sparring partner for the team s financial consultants. You will work closely with the department head and gain a broad contact network to the municipality's centers, staff, management team and executive.
Your main tasks will be
- plan and coordinate the annual budget process and ensure that timelines, deliverables and responsibilities are clear throughout the organization
- design the municipality's budget follow-ups for the political level and follow up to ensure the process is carried out with the necessary quality
- collect and quality-assure central budget products, including budget notes, financial overviews and decision proposals
- support financial consultants, managers and directors in the preparation of the profession-specific budget and follow-up material
- follow the overall development in the municipality's economy and contribute with cross-cutting analyses and financial perspectives
- be a professional sparring partner for colleagues and contribute to coherence and knowledge sharing across the team
- develop processes, materials and digital tools so that the municipality's financial management becomes simpler, more usable and forward-looking
You will also need to participate in meetings with the management team and the executive board when budget and financial matters are on the agenda.
Over the year there will be periods with tight deadlines and many simultaneous deliveries and other periods with more time for analysis, development and deepening.
Who are you
Your educational background is not decisive. We are looking for someone who combines a solid understanding of municipal finances with strong skills in process management. You can create structure in complex flows, think several steps ahead and follow up when many contributions must end up as one consolidated delivery. At the same time you can communicate financial issues clearly and precisely to recipients with varying professional prerequisites.
We especially emphasize that you
- have experience with financial management in a municipality and understand the interaction between administration, management and political level
- can plan and drive cross-cutting processes with many stakeholders and dependencies
- work analytically, systematically and with a view to both the whole and the crucial details
- communicate clearly and collaborate in a trusting manner with both financially oriented and non-financial colleagues
- take responsibility for progress and can stay calm during periods of high tempo and tight deadlines
- are curious about how workflows, steering information and digital solutions can be improved.

In the Budget and Steering Team, the financial consultants work with budgeting, budget follow-up, financial advisory and analyses across the municipality's functional areas.
We have a high professional level and an informal tone. You will have a great deal of freedom to plan your work, but we prioritize sparring and knowledge sharing so that tasks are solved collectively and no one is left alone with the complex deliveries.
