Family Therapist with specialized knowledge of autism, a focus on the whole family, and with special education competencies for Herkules at Magleblik School

At Herkules we meet the students with presence, clarity and respect. We work with the integrated approach and a mentalizing approach, where relationships and understanding are in focus. We are looking for an educator who will help rebuild trust and create settings where children can thrive, develop and find back to meaningful communities.

Are you focused on understanding what lies behind a child’s or adolescent’s behavior? Do you have insight into how autism can express itself differently, and how sensory processing, masking, energy management, communication and surroundings can affect well-being and development? And can you translate your knowledge into concrete family intervention, where an understanding of the child’s or adolescent’s needs is translated into usable strategies and new options for actions in the family?

• Creates safety and structure in daily life
• Has experience with or strong interest in working with children and young people with autism
• Has knowledge of treatment work or desire to learn it
• Has experience with family therapy and/or social intervention in complex cases where there are autism spectrum disorders or other psychiatric disorders in the family
• Has a solution- and resource-focused outlook and believes that change is possible.
• Works relationally and purposefully with the development of students and families
• Is able to set clear goals and guide students toward achieving them with support, patience and professional insight
• Is curious about mentalizing practice and holistic approach
• Wants to be a visible and present adult in the lives of children and families.

About Herkules and Magleblik Skole

Herkules is a special educational school offering for students with autism and school refusal, where we work with the integrated approach and a holistic view. We often work from the student’s home and network. We are part of Magleblik School, which besides Herkules includes three specialized school offers: Basen, Hermes and Apollo. Here collaboration, safety and development are central.

• Herkules: 20 students
• Basen: 44 students (0–9th grade)
• Hermes: 10 students in 3 class communities
• Apollo: 1 student, targeted offer to students with complex needs

The school is located close to nature and public transport and embodies both professionalism, heart and ambition.

Our pedagogical approach

At Herkules we work from a holistic and reflective practice, where relationships and understanding are central. We use a mentalizing approach that supports students' ability to understand their own and others' feelings, intentions and actions. Our work is based on a systemic and narrative understanding framework, where we see the students in context, as part of their family, network and surroundings. This means that we place emphasis on creating meaningful communities where everyone feels seen, heard and included.

• Salary and employment terms are set in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. In addition, qualification and function supplements may be agreed. The expected total salary is in the range of 45,000–55,000 DKK per month excluding pension, depending on experience and competencies
• Documents: Child and criminal record checks will be obtained before employment
