About the job
Family House Haderslev Municipality is seeking new employees who are passionate about working with children and young people. We need new colleagues, so if you have a pedagogical education and experience in the child field, then perhaps you are the one we are seeking?
Family House is seeking a family therapist for our “Small Children Team” 37 hours per week with start on 1 December 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter. The Small Children Team is a cross-disciplinary team consisting of family therapists, health visitors and social workers.
As a family therapist in the team, you will be anchored in the Family House, and will have both internal case discussions with your colleagues in the house, and team meetings with the entire Small Children Team across professional backgrounds. A particular feature of the Small Children Team in Haderslev is that a large part of our work is group-based, and you will thus be part of these groups.
In addition, as a family therapist you will also conduct home visits, which at times will account for the majority of the working time. We are creative in our team about solving tasks, and we always do what makes sense for the child.
As an employee of the Family House you will become part of a team of dedicated colleagues in a house with “high ceilings” and room for professional and personal development, and we prioritise team supervision as well as external supervision. The tasks are diverse and varied.
For the “Small Children Team” we are looking for a family therapist who
- has a basic pedagogical education
- is practically oriented and empathetic, able to work to support parents in creating a secure attachment for their child
- has courage and willingness to work with families in vulnerable positions, so they become aware of their own strategies and attachment patterns and thereby are able to offer their future child the most appropriate support
- can work independently but also in a team
- can work practically in a pedagogical way in the families’ homes and contribute to giving the family more appropriate interaction patterns and strengthen the interfamily relationships
- has experience with or a desire to work network-involved
- can work in a structured way and plan their own calendar
- show respect for diversity and ways of life
- have the ability, calmness and courage to “be” with upcoming and new parents who themselves become uncertain
- have experience with or a desire to join our parent groups
For the position it is essential that you can see yourself working with families of other ethnicities and with respect for different cultures and religions.
As an employee of the Family House you may encounter situations where the child’s best interests are at risk. In these situations you must be able to maintain an overview, and it is important that you as a person are calm and responsible, have self-awareness and can function independently at work. It is essential that you as a person are authentic and can be respectfully present with the family, even in these situations.
Crucially, as an employee of the Family House you can establish contact with the individual parent and the individual child and are not afraid to go beyond your own comfort zone in the work. Children and parents at the Family House must meet present and sincere adults who are focused on what will be best for the individual child.
Haderslev Municipality places great emphasis on involving the private networks of children and young people. For this, among other things, family conferences (familierådslagning) have become one of the guiding methods of Family Counseling. All parents connected to the “Small Children Team” are offered family conferences as early as possible in their pregnancy. It is therefore important for us that our new employee has knowledge of the method or wishes to acquire it, just as it is generally important that you as a Family House employee work in a network-engaged way.
The tasks will be varied, and there will be tasks that do not take place in the Family House, which is why a car and driver’s license will be a prerequisite.
We offer you
- a house with competent staff who are passionate about their work to develop our practice
- to become part of a team with a professional leader as well as 2-3 other family therapists, 2 health visitors, and 3 social workers
- a house with nearly 50 employees under one department head who handles various tasks under BL § 30 and § 32
- a curious, dynamic workplace with a focus on professionalism and quality in the work around each and every child
- accessible management with opportunities for 1:1 coaching and team coaching and external supervision.
