About the job
Do you want to make a difference where finance and welfare meet?
In Economics and Purchasing in Sorø Municipality, we are looking for a sharp and engaged financial consultant who is passionate about financial management – and who is motivated to translate numbers and analyses into real value for managers and citizens.
You will have an exciting portfolio of tasks with responsibility for financial management in the specialized child and adult areas as well as the municipality's dental care and health center.
These are areas where financial decisions have great significance for both the individual citizen and the municipality's overall economy. You will therefore work with complex issues where strong financial management, professional insight and close dialogue with management are crucial.
The most important for us is not that you have worked with exactly these subjects before. The most important is that you are a strong financial consultant who thrives in the role of professional sparring partner, and who wants to be part of an ambitious and social community.
Your role – close to both management and reality
As a financial consultant, you will become a central adviser and sparring partner for center managers and leaders in the welfare area.
You will be responsible for financial management in the specialized child area and the specialized adult area, where the finances are often complex and influenced by both the development in the number of citizens, their needs and the costs for the individual interventions.
In addition, you will become the financial consultant for the municipality's dental care and health center. Both units are located close to the town hall, which provides good opportunities for close and ongoing dialogue with leaders and employees.
You will work both strategically and operationally and play an important role in creating overview, developing financial management and ensuring a solid basis for financial prioritizations.
Your tasks will include, among others
- Budgeting and budget follow-up
- Financial analyses, forecasts and impact assessments
- Preparation of financial decision proposals for management and political level
- Analyses of the development in expenses and activities
- Development of management information and financial control tools
- Close sparring with center managers and leaders on the connection between economy, activity and professional practice
You will have autonomous responsibility for your areas, but you never stand alone with the tasks. You will become part of a strong financial professional environment where we help each other, share knowledge and collaborate to find the best solutions.
Who are you?
You are first and foremost a skilled financial consultant with strong analytical abilities and a solid financial toolbox. You can create an overview in complex contexts and communicate finance clearly and trustworthily.
You understand that good financial management is not only about numbers and spreadsheets, but also greatly about people, dialogue and understanding of the professional reality that finance must support.
In addition, we value that you
- Have experience with financial management, preferably from a municipality or another politically governed organization
- Are strong in Excel and have a flair for data and systems, preferably our financial system KMD Opus
- Work independently, in a structured manner and take responsibility for your tasks
- Have strong analytical abilities and can translate complex issues into usable decision data
- Are not afraid to ask curious and critical questions – even when the finances are under pressure
- Thrive in dialogue with leaders and collaboration partners and can create good and trustworthy relationships
- Appreciate a community where we help each other and lift together
If you have experience with financial management in the specialized social area or health sector, that is an advantage. But we are open to different profiles – including you, who bring strong financial expertise and a desire to learn new areas.
Who are we?
You will become part of Budget and Governance, which is a unit in Finance and Purchasing – Sorø Municipality's central financial function. You report to the team leader for Budget and Governance.
We work closely across areas and place great emphasis on professional sparring, knowledge sharing and shared responsibility. With us there should be room for both professional ambitions, good laughs and a life outside work.
With us you get
Professional depth and influence
You come close to the managerial and political decision-making processes and gain real opportunity to influence the development of financial management in some of the municipality's most complex welfare areas.
Flexibility and trust
We believe in freedom with responsibility and offer flexible frameworks where there is an opportunity to arrange the workday so work and private life fit well together. We have flex time and the possibility of remote work.
A strong community
We highly value the social aspect and emphasize an informal and welcoming tone. We help each other, share knowledge and lift together. We believe that high professional competence and job satisfaction go hand in hand – and that it should be meaningful and pleasant to go to work.
Therefore you should apply
Does it motivate you to

- Be a trusted sparring partner for leaders and center managers
- Develop financial management and create transparency in the welfare area
- Take independent responsibility while being part of a strong collegial community

- then we think you will thrive very well with us.
