Financial controller with a focus on tax and investments

Do you have an accounting background and a desire to develop yourself within tax and investments? At P+ we are looking for a financial controller who will use their strong accounting skills in a role closely linked to tax, investments, and financial reporting.

At P+ we work every day for more than 125,000 academics and their families. The tax area plays a central role in the pension fund's operations, investments, and member offers, and we are now seeking a financial controller who can help support and develop the area further.

In the finance department you will become part of a high professional environment with broad contact across the organization. You will also have close collaboration with some of the industry’s leading tax advisors, whom we regularly use for sparring in complex cases and in connection with changes in legislation and practice.

Your tasks

Your tasks will focus on tax and investments, but you will also contribute to the finance department’s other tasks. They will include:

• controlling tax assessments and declarations, including pension taxation
• handling of tax-related aspects of investments, including tax due diligence for new investments and reclaiming foreign withholding tax
• calculation of VAT deduction percentage and preparation of responses to inquiries from the Tax Authority about VAT
• ongoing handling and assessment of tax issues
• participation in cross-organizational projects, for example in connection with financial analyses and decision proposals
• contributing to the preparation of financial reporting
• contributing to efficiency and development of internal processes in the finance department

The position offers the possibility to work with both operations, analysis and development. You will therefore experience a varied daily life, where some days are dominated by concrete tax calculations, calculations and financial reporting, while other days involve contributing to new issues or coordinating dialogue with colleagues and advisors.

Who are you?

We assume that you have a relevant accounting or finance educational background such as HD(R), cand.merc.aud, cand.merc. or equivalent.

You have experience from an accounting or tax department or an auditing firm. Knowledge of the financial sector is an advantage, but your motivation to develop your skills within tax and investments is the most important.

As a person, you are curious and take initiative. You work in a structured and quality-conscious way and thrive on taking responsibility for your tasks. You are motivated by collaboration and dialogue and actively contribute to a good working environment with your engagement and good humor. In addition, you have an understanding of the interaction between tax, accounting, investments and the business. Furthermore, you have solid Excel and IT skills and are curious about AI.

About the team

You will become part of Finance, which consists of 7 employees.

We have an informal tone and communicate openly across the team. We have a strong sense of togetherness and value openness, helpfulness, and collaboration.

Finance plays, among other things, a central role in the pension fund’s tax matters and is responsible for tax computations, tax reporting, and handling of tax issues in close collaboration with the investment department. The department also ensures accurate and reliable financial reporting, including preparation of the pension fund’s annual report, controlling and consolidation of subsidiaries, as well as internal and regulatory reporting. In addition, we are responsible for operations, development and follow-up on the pension fund’s budgets.
