About the job

Do you want to support patients during their hospital stay with a patient-involved and multidisciplinary focus, then you are the one we are looking for in Section 1 for a permanent position.

Section 1 is characterized by covering many exciting surgical and medical specialties at AUH, where there is patient work on the wards as well as in several clinics. Your daily work will primarily be on the wards for Gastrointestinal Surgery and also to cover other specialties in the event of colleagues' absence. In addition, you will participate in the tasks related to inpatient patients with lymphedema problems together with other physiotherapist colleagues who also have the training. This task will constitute a smaller portion of the total working time.

The position starts from January 1, 2027. The number of hours is as a rule 37 hours per week.

Team Phys 2 covers the following clinical departments: Kidney diseases, Urological surgery including pelvic floor patients, Liver diseases as well as Gastrointestinal and General Surgery. Team Ergo covers all the above specialties in Section 1 in addition to specialties from Section 2.

Your tasks include, among others

  • assessment of function and rehabilitation potential of patients in complex pathways mainly within the gastrointestinal surgical specialty

Working hours

Working hours are currently between 08.00 and 16.00. There is weekend work about every 6 weeks, and there are daytime shifts on holidays. In on-call work, coverage will be needed in the other specialties in Section 1.

We can offer you

  • a workplace where we value professional and personal development
  • employment in a serious, well-functioning department with good humor, where we emphasize an appreciative and positive collegial collaboration
  • a job in a dynamic department where there is ongoing focus on the development of the discipline, quality assurance and research

  • have experience with complex hospital pathways and documentation in the EHR
  • have specialty-specific experience with gastrointestinal surgical patients in a hospital context
  • have the lymphedema training or are willing to undertake the training – likely in spring 2027
  • are empathetic, open and realistic in the encounter with and treatment of people with life-threatening/chronic diseases and can adapt the therapeutic effort according to the patient’s daily form
  • take initiatives and contribute to developing the profession and workflows
  • have good skills regarding flexibility and the ability to keep an overview in a busy daily life that is often unpredictable, and where planned plans often need to be revised.
