About the job

We are seeking a club staff member who has experience with gaming pedagogy, where computer games and gaming communities are used as an educational and relational tool to strengthen children's well-being. The aim is to move computer games from being a solitary screen activity to becoming a conscious, relational and pedagogical tool.

We want our future employee to view media and gaming in a broader understanding than just facilitating PlayStation and computer games. You should be able to think outside the box regarding the activity when it comes to communities, relationships and friendships among children. Media and gaming thus become a common third.

Activities connected to game communities can be used as a catalyst for conversations with children about life’s ups and downs. By showing genuine interest in what they do and being curious online, you can help them understand their own and others’ feelings, and why a comment can be misunderstood or hurt.

By knowing the platforms and games the children use, you meet the children at eye level and speak a common language. In this way you build a trusting relationship with the children, which makes them feel safe so they dare to approach you if something goes wrong or life hurts.

The pedagogical task is not to turn young people into professional e-sports players, but to use the game as an arena for social inclusion, well-being, self-confidence and relationship work. Our pedagogy is grounded in a playful mindset, the courage to dare to fail, problem-solving and participation in meaningful communities.

We offer

At Fritidscenter Amager Midt we focus on child participation in everyday activities, e.g., cooking, role-playing, gaming, creative workshop and planning trips away from home. We work systematically with SMTTE and well-being tools. We value a high professional level supported by courses, theme days and education.

We have a media policy in the cluster. The media policy describes our approaches to different types of technology under the designation 'screen', digital media and platforms, which frameworks we set, and why.

We have a good staffing with a diverse group of children and an explicit positive approach and engagement to our children/youths, the parents, each other and the work. It has created a pleasant, developing and stable workplace where one wants to stay once started. We have a very good work environment assessment as well as supervisory report and most of the staff have been here for years.

Working hours are primarily during daytime from 12-17:00. However, during the year there will be evening events until about 20:30, such as Halloween, summer party, color party etc., where we expect you to participate.

We are seeking a new colleague who

  • can facilitate gaming pedagogy – a popular activity that attracts many children
  • is comfortable on SoMe and gaming universes for children aged 10-12
  • has the heart and professionalism with them in everything
  • is a team player who actively applies their professional knowledge and thereby contributes to lifting the professional development in the staff group and at the same time can work independently and complete their tasks
  • has knowledge of and experience with the target group.

Employment terms

The position is 25 hours per week. We wish for you to start on January 1, 2027. Salary and employment terms according to the applicable collective agreement and within the framework of local pay formation.
