About the job

The Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Water Supply, Emergency Preparedness and Inspection is seeking a new colleague who can contribute to cross-cutting coordination and also support the management in the office. A significant part of the work consists of coordinating tasks that cut across the office's professional areas, budget follow-up and contribution to target follow-up, etc.

In addition there are ad hoc tasks in different parts of the office – e.g., contributing to hold rat authorization courses, contributing to generalist tasks in the wastewater sector, servicing the deputy directors' meetings with stakeholders, etc.

Water Supply, Emergency Preparedness and Inspection has teams within Groundwater, Drinking Water, Rats and Recreational Water, Emergency Preparedness, Grants, Water Planning, Wastewater Supervision and Environmental Assessments. The unit thus handles a fairly broad portfolio of tasks, and there will also be a need to contribute across when tasks require it.

About the tasks

We are looking for you who want to support ensuring that the office's core tasks succeed. Depending on your profile, we will also involve you in other cross-unit tasks – and we will look at this when we have gotten to know each other well. We generally do this to ensure strong professional sparring and a broad collegial network.

Your profile

It is an advantage if you have previously worked in a state or municipal administration. We also expect that you have a relevant generalist education such as cand.scient.pol or similar.

We also expect that you

  • Are a skilled communicator, both in writing and speaking, who can translate complex material and difficult processes into manageable administrative workflows.
  • Have experience with administrative processes from the state or municipality where finance, sector-specific expertise, law and policy must be considered and presented succinctly.
  • Can engage and establish dialogue with relevant actors in the case workflows.
  • Are thorough and systematic, so the task solution is of top quality.
  • Have digital competencies and are accustomed to navigating and incorporating digital tools.
  • Are both meticulous and proactive.

You must be able to thrive in the interplay between long-term work with the strategic directions and occasionally delivering faster, focused work processes.

We offer

You will join an already well-functioning team that is good at sparring with each other. Your colleagues are professionally skilled and knowledge sharing is a natural part of the daily routine of the two teams. You will work in a busy, professional, social and outward-facing environment with a friendly atmosphere. We emphasise that it is enjoyable and motivating to go to work, and that we are busy with the right things. In addition, we value a friendly chat over lunch that also includes non-work topics.

About us

In the office we are about 40 colleagues. We are organized in teams and have 1 head of office, 1 functional manager and 2 team leaders. You will work together with other professional groups such as geologists, veterinarians, engineers, analytical chemists, political scientists, emergency practitioners, biologists, data scientists, etc.

Salary and conditions of employment

Salary and terms of employment are according to the current Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state (the Akademiker Agreement).

The employing department is the Ministry of the Environment with associated institutions.

The workplace will be Lerchesgade 35, 5000 Odense C.

Start date is January 1, 2027 or by agreement.
