About the job
Sønderbroskolen – German and Danish teacher for middle grades – 37 hours
Sønderbroskolen seeks a teacher with a subject portfolio in German and Danish, who has strong skills in relationship-building, is ambitious on behalf of students and themselves, and who naturally participates in professional learning communities.
In addition, it is an advantage to have further subject areas: physical education, history, crafts and design.
Sønderbroskolen is a well-functioning school with an international profile and is centrally located in the middle of Aalborg in a very large school district. Our culture is characterised by a high degree of diversity and inclusivity. We are also one of the municipality’s sport-profile schools and therefore movement is a natural centre for the school day both in school and in DUS. The school is organised into three divisions: primary, middle and upper primary, as well as DUS 1 and 2 for children in grades 0-6.
In the upper primary, we have Aalborg municipality’s sports classes, where pupils gather from across the region.
At the school we have approximately 560 pupils and just over 85 staff, and in our daily life we prioritise wellbeing and academic achievement highly. The environment at the school is characterised by clear and friendly adults who meet children and parents in an acknowledging and respectful manner.
We have high ambitions to be one of the very best schools in terms of lifting potential, and therefore we have a particular focus on language and reading as well as preventive measures both academically and in terms of well-being.
We are looking for a teacher for the middle grades, 37 hours per week from 01.01.2027 as
· passionate about their subjects
· has a resource-oriented view of children
· is a reflective, positive and loyal colleague with a good sense of humor
· has experience with or a particular interest in working with bilingual children.
We can offer a position where
· you will have professional and caring colleagues
· there are good opportunities to test ideas and development measures
· we will be very happy when you succeed
· we strive to create the best working conditions within the given framework
· we focus on having a culture characterised by openness and dialogue
· you will daily work with children and young people who are happy with you because you are a skilled teacher
· you will daily have the opportunity to make a difference
