Head of Product Management – Ingredients - Palsgaard

The Head of Product Management leads the global product management function, ensuring that Palsgaard’s portfolio is aligned with strategy, competitive pricing and technically robust. The role secures portfolio governance, drives complexity reduction, and ensures that product and category strategies are delivered consistently across the organization.

Why the role exists

With a broad global portfolio, Palsgaard needs a clear focal point for portfolio ownership. This role ensures that product management is not fragmented but unified under one leadership, bridging the technical and commercial perspectives with a high focus on competitive price setting. The Head of Product Management exists to secure profitable growth and margins by managing the portfolio strategically, driving SKU reduction aligned to market strategies, and aligning innovation and lifecycle management with Must-Win Battles. The function reports to the Commercial Development Director.

Your responsibilities

• Lead and develop the global Product Management team (technical + commercial).
• Own portfolio governance across all categories.
• Drive SKU rationalization aligned with market strategies and complexity management.
• Competitive price settings enabling growth in sales volume and opening new customers
• Ensure alignment with Q/A, Innovation, Supply Chain, and Commercial Development.
• Approve category strategies and product roadmaps

Day-to-day tasks

· Chair portfolio reviews and lifecycle management meetings.

• Approve new product business cases and rationalization proposals.
• Provide guidance to Commercial and Technical Product Managers.
• Align with Regional Directors on portfolio execution.

Deliverables

• Global portfolio strategy and category roadmaps.
• Competitive price settings.

• Strong collaboration across functions.

Professional capabilities ideally

• 10+ years’ experience in global product management.
• Strong knowledge of food ingredients or related B2B markets.
• Proven track record in portfolio governance and lifecycle management.
