Do you want to contribute to the historically large growth of Denmark's voluntary force? And do you want to help create coherence and momentum in the Home Guard Command's materiel element?

Here is an exciting job with great influence, independence and good colleagues.

About us

The Home Guard Command is an independent agency under the Ministry of Defence. The Home Guard Command is responsible for leadership and management of the Home Guard at management levels I and II. The Logistics Department is located in the Planning Division, and consists of a Materiel Element, Security Advisors Element, Establishment Element, Communications and IT element and the Maintenance Support Unit. The department is led by a chief, a deputy chief and five element leaders. Right now we are speeding up the strengthening of the Home Guard both qualitatively and quantitatively.

About the position

As head of the Materiel Element you will have the responsibility for a strong team consisting of seven employees with extensive experience in material management, logistics and case handling. You report to the head of the Logistics Department and will work in close cooperation with the other departments of the Home Guard Command and partners.

You have the daily management and coordination of cases and tasks in the Materiel Element, and ensure coherence, timeliness and quality in task execution. You assist the material case handlers with sparring, professional support and development.

In addition you will handle material case handling within your own areas, on par with the other case handlers in the element.

The Materiel Element handles operation and management of the Home Guard's total material capacities, from the Marine Home Guard's vessels to single-person equipment, and at the same time handles the J4 function in the Home Guard's Operational Staff. The Element has a large interface with the Ministry of Defence's Materiel and Procurement Agency, the Defence Command and the Home Guard's NIV-III authorities. We value delivering holistic solutions, and it is therefore important that you can form and maintain relationships.

The Materiel Element handles a wide range of tasks from long-term development, through planning to operation. It provides a large interface and not least influence in a staff in growth and development.

About you

You have documented experience with personnel management and thrive on achieving results through your employees. You are able to maintain an overview and coordinate tasks, which enables you to prioritise and allocate resources within your own element. The position requires resilience, flexibility and a holistic view of employees and tasks to be solved.

It would be advantageous if you have knowledge of case handling at NIV 1, SAP/DeMARS, materiel operations and management and/or experience with operational logistics. You will be responsible for quality assurance of the element's written products and have a handle on staff methodology and routines.

Our areas of responsibility span widely and have a strong influence on the soldier-related aspects. It is therefore important that you have a strong drive, think in whole and follow cases through to the end. Do

you do, we will reward with broad freedom under responsibility, a good professional environment, good colleagues, and good opportunities for sparring and personal development.

Terms of employment

Note that the position is advertised both civilian and military.

The employment is in accordance with the current collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state (Academic Agreement).
