Heating, energy and climate consultant sought - East

The position as heat-, energy- and climate consultant in the Dioceses of Copenhagen, Helsingør, Roskilde and Lolland-Falster is hereby announced with commencement on 1 January 2027. The position is a fixed-term appointment for 4 years and expires on 31 December 2030.

The position is a secondary occupation.

Profile

The heat-, energy- and climate consultant must have an education as a civil engineer or similar with a specialization in heating, energy, and climate matters. The person appointed to the position must not have a financial interest in companies that manufacture, trade, repair or service heating or climate installations or components for such installations.

The heat-, energy- and climate consultant is appointed personally and may be affiliated with an engineering or architectural firm specializing in heating, energy and climate.

Tasks

The consultant's area of responsibility includes cases concerning the execution of new heating, ventilation or humidification systems, or the conversion of existing systems in churches, including conducting a professional thermal-technical and economic assessment regarding the construction and use of church heating systems. Also cases on energy consumption as well as locating and utilizing energy-saving opportunities and cases on climate conditions, including climate problems for the churches' historical inventories, etc.

As a heat-, energy- and climate consultant you shall, upon request, issue statements in cases relating to the above.

You will also be required to provide advice and guidance to parish councils and cemetery boards who request it.

The heat-, energy- and climate consultant also participates in the diocese's consultant rounds, where we, among other things, visit churches in the diocese where a parish council has wishes or plans for a project.

During the consultant rounds the project is discussed with the parish council, and the heat-, energy- and climate consultant applies his/her expertise together with the diocese's other consultants. About 4 consultant rounds are held per year in each diocese.

As a heat-, energy- and climate consultant you act as an adviser to the church authorities according to the rules in:

Please note that the Ministry of Health and Church Affairs expects to issue revised administrative regulations for consultation during September 2026. There is a proposal to change the consultants' areas of expertise, and the changes will therefore be significant for upcoming appointments. The ministry expects to adopt the administrative regulations in October-November 2026.

It is important to note that as a heat-, energy- and climate consultant you may not undertake design tasks for parish councils within the diocese you are employed by, unless the diocese exceptionally approves it.

Remuneration

The remuneration as of 1 January 2026

• Advisory cases under § 8 in Circular no. 9779 of 6 October 2009 on the common instruction for the church's consultants: 1,236 DKK per hour.
• Declaration cases under § 7, sec. 1, in Circular no. 9779 of 6 October 2009 on the common instruction for the church's consultants: 1,854 kr.pr per declaration.

The remuneration is supplemented with holiday pay of 12.5%, and no VAT is to be added.

The rates are adjusted annually on January 1.
