Sector Advisor to the Danish Embassy in Indonesia – Food and Agriculture Do you want to strengthen a strategic government-to-government cooperation between Denmark and Indonesia and contribute to a more sustainable food sector?

Do you have experience from the food and agriculture sector, strong project management skills, and a desire to work internationally? Then you could be the new Sector Advisor at the Danish Embassy in Jakarta, where you will play a central role in the cooperation between the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration and the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture.

Sector Advisor As Sector Advisor you will be the link between the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration, the Danish embassy and the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture. Together with the project manager from the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration, you will drive and develop the government cooperation and translate the project goals into activities and results in practice.

You will be responsible for planning, preparing, implementing and following up on, among other things, technical seminars, webinars and delegation visits. You will also contribute to project management, reporting and coordination across Danish and Indonesian partners.

An important part of the role is to build and maintain relationships with authorities, international partners, business associations, companies as well as research and educational institutions. You will also help create coherence between the government cooperative effort and the embassy’s other development, trade, policy and green transition activities.

At the embassy you will be part of an integrated food team that works with government cooperation, government contacts and commercial support. You are expected to work independently and proactively and will have close contact with the embassy’s management and the Secretary of State for Food.

The government cooperation should, through capacity building, support the green transition of Indonesia's dairy sector and contribute to a more sustainable and robust food system. The cooperation focuses, among other things, on regulatory frameworks for organic milk production and on the broader sustainable development of the dairy sector.

The position gives you the opportunity to work at the crossroads of food, sustainability, government cooperation and international relations in one of Southeast Asia’s largest economies. You will also play an important role in following up on the project’s actions and contributing to a successful conclusion of the third phase.

We are looking for someone with a higher education and at least five years of relevant professional experience as a starting point. Your relevant experience and knowledge of the food and agricultural sector are highly valued. You may have experience from a government authority, a commercial actor or an industry association and must be able to engage with professional credibility in the collaboration with strong and capable partners. Experience from a politically led organization and an understanding of government cooperation, documentation requirements and bureaucratic processes are a clear advantage.

International business experience, preferably from Asia, is an advantage but not a requirement to have previously been posted abroad. It is essential that you can build relationships and navigate collaborations across authorities, organizations and cultures. You communicate clearly, work analytically and create progress through professional credibility, diplomatic understanding, perseverance and pragmatic solutions. Employment terms As Sector Advisor you will be employed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and seconded to the Danish Embassy in Jakarta, where you will be part of the embassy staff. The position is expected to be filled from 1 August 2027 to 31 January 2030. The exact start date will be determined when security clearance, contract negotiations and travel preparations are completed.

Salary and employment terms are set in accordance with the AC collective agreement in the state. All amounts are stated at the current level (August 2026). You will receive a base salary excluding pension as a Senior Advisor of DKK 574,099 per year plus a functional allowance of DKK 33,613 per year and a department allowance of DKK 25,464 per year. This corresponds to a total annual salary of DKK 747,591 including pension with a pension contribution rate of 18.07%. There may also be the possibility of a qualification allowance based on relevant experience and competence.

During assignment you will receive a tax-free foreign assignment allowance calculated from your personal circumstances, including your family status. An unfurnished official residence will be provided under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs rules, and among other things moving travel costs, relocation, health coverage and school or childcare costs will be covered according to the applicable rules.

It is a prerequisite for employment that you can obtain security clearance.
