About the job

Hospice nurse for specialized palliation – with the possibility of flexibility regarding shifts and hours

Do you have the stamina and the desire to challenge yourself within specialized palliation, where close interdisciplinary collaboration is the axis around the effort provided to the patient and the relatives?

Are you focused on delivering nursing care from a holistic approach, with attention to the patient’s physical, psychological, social and spiritual/existential issues?

Would you like to work in a field where there is time to provide good nursing care to the patient and the relatives?

Would you like to be part of a safe interdisciplinary community, where there is strong professional engagement and where we take good care of each other?

  • Then you may be our upcoming nurse colleague!

We can offer

A field with a high professional level and strong engagement.

A warm and safe community with colleagues and volunteers.

A well-functioning interdisciplinary collaboration where we pull together and look after each other.

Thorough introduction, tailored to the experience you bring.

Close professional sparring with experienced hospice nurses, as well as with a priest, psychologist, doctors, music therapist, occupational therapist and physiotherapists.

Planned team days with teaching, supervision, development work, etc.

Meal arrangement with well-prepared and healthy food from our own kitchen, focusing on seasonal produce, home-baked bread and togetherness around the meals.

Wonderful experiences with lovely colleagues, also outside working hours, where an active staff association arranges canoe trips, parties, excursions, etc.

Expectations of you

As a nurse at Gudenå Hospice you are expected to participate as an active and engaged contributor in the interdisciplinary collaboration, with the aim of creating the greatest possible relief and support for the patient and the relatives.

Specialized palliative nursing is often complex and always mindful of the whole person. That is, as a nurse you will work with the physical, psychological, social and spiritual/existential issues that the individual wishes support with.

Hospice is part of the specialized palliative field and there is therefore an expectation that hospice contributes to the development of the palliative field. You should therefore be interested in participating in the implementation of the development projects set in motion at Gudenå Hospice and you should also preferably like to participate in development work in the future.

Hospice nursing requires personal courage and the capacity to engage in relationships with patients and relatives, who are often in a difficult life phase. You must therefore be able to stay calm and present and have a good sense of balance between "doing and being" and between words and silence.

There are busy days where close collaboration is essential for everyone to have a good day. You should therefore be naturally flexible, have a good overview, and be good at prioritizing.

In addition we value that you have

Updated clinical and theoretical knowledge of nursing.

Ability and willingness to reflect clinically and ethically.

Good communication skills, both orally and in writing.

Will and ability to contribute to a good interdisciplinary collaboration.

IT skills at user level.

Your qualifications

Danish authorization as a nurse.

Preferably solid experience after completing basic training.
