Hotel Manager for Hotel Odense

In December 2027, 248 new rooms will be ready at Hotel Odense. That will give us 552 rooms and make us the largest hotel outside Copenhagen. We are seeking the leader who will ensure that room number 552 is as well thought out as the first one, and that the guest feels it even before arrival.

The position is more than an operational role with a new title. You will oversee the entire experience of staying with us: people, spaces, processes, development and economics. You will have broad responsibility, and you will receive a mandate that matches it.

Your Everyday

You must approach the task with great ownership. The hotel will be yours to operate and develop.

You will always have control of occupancy, budget and daily arrivals. But also imagine that you are at the forefront in the reception when 800 conference participants check in at the same time. That you meet with a furniture supplier and only leave the table when the quality and price are in place. You also train a new receptionist, fix a lamp and have a talk with a regular guest. And you cooperate with a sales colleague on a special event, where our guests as part of their event stay “with you”.

Your Responsibility Will Be Broad

Leadership

• You lead the hotel’s operational teams (receptionists, booking coordinator, night porters) and are responsible for recruiting, training and developing your staff. You have full responsibility for the work environment and well-being.

Guest Journey

• You are responsible from booking to departure. This applies to VIP guests, leisure guests, large groups and the flow when the hotel, conference, fair and event run at the same time.
• You communicate Odense’s many possibilities and highlight Odense and Funen, so that guests are inspired here as well for more than they expect.

Aesthetics and Identity

• You decorate and further develop. You establish and maintain the hotel’s signatures and ensure that the hotel, reception and common areas look the way they should every day.

Merchant Mindset

• You are responsible for budget, forecast and cost management, and you negotiate with suppliers and partners. You secure the best collaboration agreements, e.g. with Best Western and Coor – our external housekeeping and cleaning partner.

Development and Administration

• You are responsible for system optimizations, self-service solutions and the use of AI in hotel operations. You ensure shift planning for your teams, for contracts, for management reporting and for both internal and external communication.

Collaboration

• You collaborate at management level with especially Conference and Sales, with bar, restaurant and housekeeping, with the group’s other hotels and with the ownership group.

The Profile We Seek

• Has several years of solid experience as a leader in the hotel industry with personnel responsibility and results accountability.
• Pays attention to details. A worn edge, a skewed image or a process that is not optimal for the guest will not continue to be an issue.
• A skilled merchant. Can read a financial statement, contribute to business plans, knows what a good deal is and can negotiate it into place.
• Has control of administrative tasks, routines, procedures and follow-up – even on busy days.
• Leads from the floor. Meets guests, trains staff and shows the way through personal example.
• Has ambition and the ability to elevate a hotel that nearly doubles in size.
• Can lead, negotiate and host in both Danish and English.
