Information Security Coordinator with a focus on compliance and governance for Herlev Municipality

We are looking for a competent information security coordinator who combines strong professional knowledge of IT and information security with the ability to create overview and coherence across the organization.

In Herlev Municipality we focus on strengthening the work with data protection and information security. Therefore, we are looking for an information security coordinator with solid experience in IT and security solutions, who can contribute to developing and supporting the municipality's security efforts.

The position is organizationally placed as part of the Information Security Team under IT and Digitization. It reports to the IT and Digitization Chief.

Responsibilities

Your primary tasks will be to

• ensure the implementation of necessary security measures, e.g., in connection with the standards CIS 18, ISO 27001.
• act as the point of contact for NIS2 across the entire municipality.
• implement and maintain ISMS system.
• conduct risk assessments and analyses, as well as proactively propose necessary security solutions to meet the municipality's needs.
• manage the implementation of new security solutions in collaboration with the business, IT operations and suppliers.
• be the point of contact for IT audits and reviews.
• keep security policies, procedures and incident response plans up to date.
• participate in the information security committee as well as in security work in the Greater Copenhagen Digitalization Association (DSD).
• collaborate with the team on compliance.

From requirements to practice

You will become part of a central function with responsibility for information security across Herlev Municipality. The role involves close collaboration with functional and professional areas, where you will help translate requirements and guidelines into practice throughout the organization. From the town hall to the municipality's schools, day-care centers and nursing homes, you will help create understanding of and anchor information security.

You will have significant influence on the further development of the position and substantial responsibility for strengthening the municipality's work with information security, compliance and awareness. It is expected that you stay continuously updated on developments in information security, data protection and relevant authority requirements.

Herlev Municipality is part of the Greater Copenhagen Digitalization Association (DSD), where 12 municipalities collaborate to support and implement digital initiatives for the benefit of citizens and employees.

About you

• You have a background with solid knowledge of information security and data protection.
• You have several years of relevant professional experience with IT security, preferably in the public sector.
• You have an understanding of security solutions and can relate them to the concrete threat and risk landscape.
• You are able to work cross-functionally and with a holistic approach in collaboration with both central and decentral units in the municipality.
• You are able to work independently and plan and prioritize your tasks.
• You are skilled at communicating in writing and speech, solution-oriented and able to convey complex messages in an understandable way.

About IT and Digitization

IT and Digitization is part of the Executive Office for Finance and Procurement and consists, in addition to the Information Security Team, of the Digitalization Team and the Operations and Support Team. The Information Security Team consists of a Contract Manager, a GDPR lawyer and you as information security coordinator.

Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment terms are determined in accordance with the applicable collective agreement for employees in the municipalities. Placement depends on qualifications and experience.
