About the job

Are you a skilled culinary craftsman who wants to teach others? Would you like to be a role model for the next generation of skilled graduates and motivate young people to cook? Then you may be our new instructor/chef in the Spisehuset (Dining Hall) at the Hotel- and Restaurant School.

Are you good at juggling many balls and catching most in a busy and mood-filled environment? Then you might be the one we are dreaming of right now.

As an instructor/chef in our bistro-inspired Spisehuset you will daily be involved in enriching 400 guests with healthy, green and tasty food. At the same time you will help inspire and educate future culinary craftsmen with a focus on sustainability, ecology and season.

At the Hotel- and Restaurant School you will become part of our exciting journey to lift gastronomy, everyday food and hospitality to new heights. We are creating a vocational school that through stimulating learning frameworks and a high standard in our own practice helps raise both the professional level and the students’ well-being.

The Team

You will become part of a team which, in addition to the kitchen manager, consists of five employees. We work closely on two of the school’s three dining offers – Spisehuset and Kaffebaren – where culinary craft, enjoyment and service are highly valued.

Responsibilities and tasks

As an instructor/chef in Spisehuset you work with food inspired by all world cuisines – from dal to dumplings. But you are not only involved in developing menus and running service. You are also involved in running and further developing our bistro-based lunch venue as a learning workshop for the students who are linked through school practical training or bridge programs.

Your primary tasks

  • Preparation of cold, warm and hot dishes as well as bakery and desserts.
  • To make Spisehuset’s kitchen into an inspiring teaching room, where young people learn to create food experiences at a high professional level.

About you

In addition to being a good colleague and team player, we expect that you

  • Are a trained chef with great professional passion and experience.
  • Are passionate about working with young people in education.
  • Are used to working with a focus on sustainability and the green kitchen.
  • Thrive in a busy environment, are structured and gain energy from new projects.
  • Are positive, constructive and welcoming and can create the good relationships that are necessary for learning.

We offer you

An exciting and varied job at a school with gastronomy, hospitality, people and learning at the center. We offer an informal environment with engaged colleagues and a lunch program worth boasting about. We prioritise a good balance between work and private life.

You can meet your future colleagues right here.

Employment terms

The position should be filled as soon as possible, but no later than January 1, 2027.

You will be employed and remunerated in accordance with circular CIR1H no. 9546 of 23 June 2025 regarding the organizational agreement for culinary-trained staff – kitchen and the general collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and respectively CO10 and OAO-S with any later amendments. There is a pension scheme attached to the position in accordance with the collective agreement provisions.

The position is 37 hours per week including lunch and will typically lie in the hours 7:00-14:30, though until 14:00 on Fridays.

Please note that we have smoke-free working hours, and that a child background check will be obtained in connection with the employment.
