POSITION OVERVIEW

Intern

Intern for political advocacy and secretariat (Spring 2027)

Are you razor-sharp in your political communication – and do you want to bring conflict resolution to Copenhagen? Become an intern at RIKO in Spring 2027, and become our link to political Denmark.

We are looking for you who want to be RIKO's link to political Denmark and keep our secretariat together. You will also be part of the editorial team behind RIKO's podcast and council meetings.

RIKO – the Council for International Conflict Resolution – is an independent foreign policy think tank. We work for international conflicts to be handled with non-military means: conflict resolution, negotiation, mediation and dialogue based on the latest research. RIKO is 100% volunteer-driven.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain RIKO's contacts with spokespeople, parties and the civil service
  • Follow the foreign policy debate and ensure that RIKO's recommendations reach decision-makers
  • Plan and run council meetings and events: speakers, invitations and logistics
  • Book guests and politicians for RIKO's podcast and coordinate recordings
  • Coordinate between the board, council and working groups and handle inquiries to the secretariat
  • Contribute to grant applications and project coordination

About you

  • You are studying e.g. political science, politics and administration, communications, journalism or international studies
  • You are organized, outgoing and thrive with many balls in the air
  • You write well and precisely in Danish
  • You follow Danish foreign policy and want to learn how advocacy works in practice

We offer

  • Insight into Danish foreign policy and a network at Christiansborg and in civil society
  • Real responsibility for RIKO's operations and events
  • Close collaboration with the board and the council
  • A fixed internship supervisor

Practical info

  • Period: 1 February – 30 June 2027 (weeks 6–26). Start, end and hours tailored to the requirements of your education.
  • Salary: The internship is unpaid and must be able to be included in your education.
  • Workplace: RIKO's office, Dronningensgade 14, 1420 København K. Part of the collaboration takes place online because RIKO is volunteer-driven.
  • Application: Send a short motivated application and your CV to Kristian Svendsen, daily coordinator, at [email protected]. Include your education and your hours.
  • Deadline: We conduct interviews on a rolling basis, so please apply soon and no later than 16 November 2026.
