Introductory position in the Psychiatric Department Odense – Svendborg (in Svendborg) as of 1 December or by agreement One of our I-doctors has resigned his/her position to research, so would you like to be part of a younger group of doctors, where training is secured by a senior doctor whose only task is to ensure education and guidance - and where there every other week is reflection/supervision from the group with the psychologist? The position

The position is attached to the ward units, where there is an opportunity for supervision and guidance. You will, during the year you are employed, have the opportunity to be attached to 2 different ward units, each with its own specialty.

In the ward you will work closely with a senior physician, other junior doctors and psychologists, and in addition you will be required to have on-call shifts, which currently are 2 split shifts per day.

Courses

During the year you will be offered Introduction Course in Psychiatry, which is a formalized teaching program over 10 days. In addition you will have the opportunity to start a psychotherapeutic program with supervision.

Supervision/education/teaching

There is a senior physician in the department who 2 days a week has no other tasks than to ensure the education of younger doctors and participate in discussions together with the younger doctors regarding communication techniques.

In the department there is teaching every Wednesday morning for all doctors and psychologists. Every Tuesday there is after the morning conference a presentation and discussion of a case, Thursday discusses alternating relevant topics around coercion/supervision of ECT and Friday you participate via video in case review together with the Psychiatric Department Odense.

Every other week there is reflection/supervision with a clinical psychologist (collective for younger doctors).

An arrangement has been established with a Well-being Coordinator to secure social initiatives for the younger doctor group, and there is a younger doctor meeting every other week.

The department

The Psychiatric Department has 3 units with a total of 55 beds spread across 3 wards, which are specialized and have a close collaboration with the outpatient teams, which are also specialized. Local psychiatry is located close to the campus with the inpatient wards.

The Psychiatric Department in Svendborg is merged with the Psychiatric Department Odense, and a joint morning conference is held for all doctors in Odense and Svendborg (via video).

The Region is obliged to inform you about the starting salary for the position. You will be told base salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension in agreement for junior doctors 33.03.1 – salary as of 1.4.2026 .
