Introductory position in emergency medicine in Kolding

We are seeking three introductory doctors in emergency medicine with a start date from March 1, 2027 or by arrangement

You will become part of the emergency medicine team, where the Emergency Department in Kolding is at the forefront of developing the emergency medicine field: in both the emergency reception and in cross-sector solutions with the patient in focus. In the emergency department, we have trainee doctors at all levels: pre-graduate, junior doctors (KBU) and physicians in introductory and main specialty training in emergency medicine.

In addition, we participate in the education of internal medicine doctors, general practitioners, etc. Your learning curve will be steep and your supervision opportunities very good, as we highly prioritize education and a good learning environment.

Your functions as an introductory doctor

During your twelve-month employment in the emergency department, you will be attached to the three major specialties: internal medicine, orthopaedic surgery and organ surgery. The main emphasis is on internal medicine.

The core task for you as an emergency physician is to receive, assess, examine, diagnose and treat the acutely ill patient in close interdisciplinary collaboration.

In addition you will gain competencies in areas such as ultrasound, flow management, procedures such as lumbar puncture and pleural drainage, reception of the unstable patient as team leader, as well as clinical supervision of KBU doctors and medical students. We also introduce you to prehospital triage and treatment options.

The position in our department includes, among other things

• Teaching in emergency medicine ultrasound protocols
• EMCC course (Emergency Medicine Core Competences)
• Procedural shifts with the possibility of supervised training
• Sweeper shifts with the aim of supervised reception & stabilization of the critically ill medical patient
• Case-based simulation training

Salary and terms of employment

In accordance with the current collective agreement for full-time employees between Danish Regions and Young Doctors. The department runs two-shift on-call rosters.

Routine police clearance for children is obtained at Sygehus Lillebælt.
