Introductory/remediation dentist position at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery K, Odense University Hospital

Are you considering becoming a specialist dentist in oral and maxillofacial surgery? With us you will have the opportunity to experience the specialty from the inside, develop your competences and gain clarity about your career choice.

We are seeking an engaged dentist for a fixed-term position of one year with three working days per week.

A specialty with surgery, complexity and close collaboration

Oral and maxillofacial surgery includes the assessment and treatment of diseases, injuries and changes in teeth, mouth and jaws. The specialty ranges from dentoalveolar surgery to complex maxillofacial patient pathways and combines surgical skills with diagnostics, patient contact and interdisciplinary collaboration.

As an introductory/remediation dentist you will gain insight into the daily life of the maxillofacial surgeon and become part of the department's clinical and professional community. Your tasks include among other things dental remediation and other clinical tasks, tailored to your competencies and your progression.

A program with learning and mutual clarification

The position is particularly aimed at dentists who are considering a specialist dental education in oral and maxillofacial surgery.

The purpose is to give you a realistic insight into the specialty's tasks, requirements and working life. At the same time the appointment gives you and the department the opportunity over time to clarify your interests, your motivation and your prerequisites for a possible future in the specialty.

Therefore agreed learning objectives, ongoing feedback, evaluations and competency assessments are part of the employment. We emphasize that expectations are clear, and that you gain insight into your own professional development through a dedicated supervisor.

We expect that you

• Are a dentist with Danish authorization and an interest in maxillofacial surgery.
• Take active responsibility for your learning and work purposefully towards agreed competency goals.
• Participate in supervision, feedback and ongoing evaluations.
• Meet patients and colleagues with respect, engagement and responsibility.
• Contribute to the department's daily tasks and professional community.

Any on-call work may be included in the employment period after further agreement and relevant training.

Practical information

The employment lasts one year with three working days per week. Start date is 1.1.2027/after agreement.

The position is an introductory and clarifying program and does not entail any commitment to subsequent employment in a specialist dental education position.
