Can your food create joy of eating for 66 small children?

Do you want to prepare healthy, organic and inspiring meals and become part of a collegial team where we enjoy nerding out on good meal moments?

Then it is probably exactly you that we would like to invite inside. We are looking for an engaged and professionally grounded kitchen assistant to prepare meals for our children and staff and to run the kitchen, which is centrally located on the 1st floor of our villa.

We want a professionally strong kitchen assistant who works from principles of being experimental, curious and bold, in terms of taste, colors and senses.

Vuggestuen Villa Rose is centrally located on Østerbro, housing food-loving children and adults, where the meal is much more than just food. Here there is a scent of today's food, the meal plan is inspired by seasons and themes. The children are introduced to traditions around Christmas, Easter and fastelavn, where the children taste gingerbread, sow cress and decorate fastelavn buns.

In the kitchen different spices are used in dishes and baked goods, creating a link between food policy, food experience and pedagogical practice. For the kitchen meeting you in collaboration with two of the pedagogical staff will be in dialogue about food experiences, exciting meal plans and fine-tuning.

Your responsibility as a kitchen assistant

As a kitchen assistant in our house you will be responsible for three daily meals (mid-morning, lunch and afternoon tea). Your primary tasks will be to

  • plan and prepare healthy, varied and organic food with daily production of meals made from scratch
  • develop meal plans based on the Danish Health Authority's recommendations
  • carry out purchases through Hørkram
  • perform own checks as well as manage and comply with the kitchen's finances and budget
  • be responsible for washing up and cleaning of the kitchen
  • ensure good kitchen hygiene
  • collaborate with the pedagogical staff about meals and food activities
  • contribute ideas on how we can continue to develop our work with joy of eating and courage to eat
  • keep yourself continuously updated on new knowledge, recommendations and requirements within the area.

In other words, you have responsibility for the entire kitchen and a great opportunity to influence everyday life.

Your profile

We expect that you

  • have a hygiene certificate
  • love cooking and want to cook for small children
  • are creative and curious about new ideas and ingredients
  • can work independently and in a structured way and thus handle pressured situations with a smile
  • take responsibility and follow your tasks through, by showing an overview and a sense of order.
  • are reliable and flexible
  • thrive in a everyday life with both fixed routines and room for spontaneity
  • want to collaborate closely with the pedagogical staff.

It is important for us that you can take responsibility for your own kitchen and be part of the community in the house.

For us it is not a requirement that the right candidate for the position is trained in dietetics and nutrition. We want you who have a drive and sincere curiosity for children's meals, and who enjoy being meticulous about the good meal. We dream of tasty and colorful meals that the children will remember and look forward to being served again.

Employment terms

The position is 33-35 hours per week. We want you to start on December 1, 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The employment area is Copenhagen Municipality. Salary and employment terms according to applicable collective agreement and within the framework of local pay formation. In connection with the employment we will obtain child and criminal records certificates and take references.

More information

If you have questions about the position, you can contact the pedagogical leader Tina Hensen at 26 84 83 09. Further information about Villa Rose can be found on our website .
