About the job

Do you have knowledge of agriculture, thrive in an independent workday, and can you meet people professionally and act as an authority? Do you want to contribute to a more sustainable agriculture and the green transition? Then you could be one of our new colleagues in Herning.

As an inspector you will have a varied workday, where a large part of the job takes place on farms. You largely plan your inspections yourself and follow them from preparation and visits to documentation and case processing.

We are seeking in total three new colleagues for permanent positions.

Inspection with a focus on professionalism and integrity

For the positions we are looking for new colleagues for our ecology- and conditionality teams. Here you will work with inspection of whether rules and requirements in the areas are adhered to. If you have professional knowledge about cattle or pigs, it would be an advantage in several tasks.

Area control will also be a large part of your work. It is a central task in the unit. Here we check areas that receive EU agricultural subsidies as well as areas covered by the new fertilisation law. Area control follows the farming year and is especially concentrated in the summer and autumn months.

Common to the positions is that you must be able to understand rules and instructions, work systematically and stand confidently in the role as an authority. You meet many different people, and for us a good control is both professionally correct, consistent and proper.

Our tasks and working methods are not standing still. We continuously work with digitalisation, development and optimization of the control and expect you to be curious about new solutions and want to contribute so that we together become better.

We are looking for you who have an understanding of farming and a sense for rules

Your concrete educational background is not decisive. The most important is that you have a good understanding of farming and a desire to use it in an authority-related context. You could be, for example, an agronomist technologist, have another agricultural or technical education, or have built your knowledge through practical experience.

We place emphasis on that you

  • work structured and independently and have an eye for deadlines
  • can translate rules and instructions into a professionally safe control
  • communicate clearly and have diplomatic sense
  • are comfortable with IT and want to learn new digital tools
  • take responsibility and contribute to the joint task solving
  • have a driving licence for a passenger car and can make your own car available for the work.

Become part of a strong professional community in Herning

You will become part of the unit in Central Denmark at our regional office in Herning. Here, just over 50 colleagues with various professional backgrounds work – including agronomists, farmers, biologists, environmental engineers and laboratory technicians.

In the control area we work among other things with area subsidy, project subsidy, ecology, conditionality and plant health. The unit also handles the local part of the national monitoring of nature and the water environment, NOVANA, in Central and Southern Jutland.

We offer a good working environment where high professionalism is valued. There are experienced colleagues to spar with and a great variation between field work and the administrative part. You get responsibility and freedom to plan a good part of your own working day, and we emphasize high professionalism, helpfulness and an informal tone.

Employment terms

Salary and employment terms are set in accordance with the Organizational Agreement for Agricultural Inspectors in the Agricultural Agency (now Agency for Green Land-Use and Water Environment) and the Food Control Agency. Basic salary including fixed functional allowances amounts to DKK 32,367.50 per month. There will be opportunities to negotiate qualification allowances.

The service location is the Agency for Green Land-Use Restructuring with associated institutions, Lollandsvej 4G, 7400 Herning.

The positions require that you have a category B driving licence (ordinary driving licence).

Appointments as soon as possible and no later than 1 January 2027.

Application

You apply online by sending your application, CV and educational certificates, etc., no later than Wednesday 11 November 2026 . We expect to hold interviews on Thursday 19 November.

In your application please briefly answer the following questions

  • What is it about the job as an inspector with us that makes you apply? What makes this particular position interesting for you?
  • As an inspector you plan and solve a large part of your work yourself and are often alone out on control. At the same time we depend on helping each other and taking responsibility for the common task. Tell about a situation where you had to work very independently and be part of a team. What worked well for you – and what was difficult?
  • You go out to a farm to carry out a control. The farmer is from the start frustrated with the control and tells you that the rules, in his view, are both unreasonable and far from reality. How do you approach the situation?

We look forward to reading your application.
