Kulsbjerg School is looking for a teacher for a part-time position in a special education class

At Kulsbjerg School we are seeking an engaged and competent teacher with experience in working with special education in special classes for a part-time position in the primary years.

About the school

Kulsbjerg School has approximately 560 pupils distributed over two campuses, one in Nyråd with grades 0-6 and one in Stensved with grades 0-9. The school has engaged parents, and the area is characterised by an active association life.

The school is tiered into primary, middle and upper levels and has special classes distributed in three groups. There are about 75 staff across the two campuses. Work is done in class teams and year-level teams, and each phase has a team coordinator.

About the special classes

The special classes are physically located on the department in Stensved and are placed next to each other. They work in class teams and as a single special class team. The target group is students who need support socially, academically and emotionally. There are currently 25 enrolled students in the special classes, distributed across the three groups with the possibility of further group divisions when needed.

The team works closely together, helps and supports each other and receives ongoing supervision from the municipality's PPR. Parents are often communicated with to give each individual student the best developmental opportunities.

You should have hours in S1, where there are currently 10 students aged 6-9 years, and work closely with the other staff in the class. The position is expected to be 25 hours per week.

• You are a trained teacher and have experience working with students who have special educational needs
• You can teach Danish and/or mathematics in the primary years
• You are skilled at building relationships
• You are calm, respectful and can see beyond students' behaviour
• You are a team player
• You are creative and often think outside the box when creating the best framework for the students.
