About the job

Are you passionate about making a difference for the youngest schoolchildren in the field of special education and giving them a good start to their school days? Are you eager to strengthen both learning and well-being in the daily life at school, and would you like to be part of a strong, professional community where we pull together?

About the job - We are looking for you who

  • Have the desire and ability to engage in a committed collaboration.
  • Have an understanding of relationships between people and be able to see behind the child’s behavior.
  • Are present and responsible towards colleagues, students, and parents.
  • Are good at reflecting.
  • Recognize the importance of adults being aligned in the learning environment.
  • Are persistent, flexible and driven by natural curiosity.
  • Are academically well-founded and good at framing yourself.
  • Are a trained teacher.

It would also be an advantage if you have experience with special educational work – particularly with regard to the primary school year. The Center Department is a special educational provision for students with socio-emotional challenges. We currently have 47 students in the provision. The students are divided into five age-integrated classes.

We focus on creating a good framework around the students’ whole day, and we work to create a learning environment where the students thrive and look after each other. The goal is that all students have optimal opportunities to learn and become as academically proficient as they can be, and to have good prerequisites for life.

We create the framework for our students to participate in the communities they are part of, and that they can respect each other’s strengths and weaknesses, and our goal is that all students leave the school with a high degree of self-esteem. In the Center Department we are focused on jointly developing our provision, with particular emphasis on relationships, structure, and mentalization. As a teacher you will collaborate with colleagues (both teachers and pedagogues), the students, and their parents.

You will become part of the department’s professional learning community, where we work together on meaning and direction for the development of the department.

About us

  • At Englystskolen we work purposefully to create capable, resilient, and whole people who take responsibility for themselves and the community they are part of.
  • We are a well-functioning workplace with dedicated staff, where there is room to grow and room for new ideas. Our staff spans a wide range of ages, contributing to a dynamic and diverse work environment.
  • We are all part of a committed community where good well-being, high spirits and strong collegial collaboration are a natural part of everyday life.
  • Dialogue, engagement and responsibility are keywords in the way we work and relate – both with each other and with the children.
  • Englystskolen is a large public school with about 900 students spread across 3-4 tracks , an accompanying SFO , a center department for children with socio-emotional challenges , and around 120 staff .

We offer you

  • A workplace that has come a long way in working with diverse learning communities , where we have a well-functioning internal support system and experiment with learning pits, outdoor school and co-teaching.
  • Opportunity for professional development in a professional community with the school’s other learning and inclusion guide.
  • An appreciative and resource-oriented view of children , where we see and work with children’s strengths and potentials.
  • A culture with high psychological safety , where we communicate openly and respectfully – always with a positive intention and based on the assumption that everyone is doing their best.
  • Engaged and capable colleagues who know that well-being is the foundation for learning – and who work closely together to create the best frameworks for the children.

  • A lot of wonderful and curious children who greet the world every day with energy, diversity and a desire to learn.
