Teacher for a substitute position at Dybkær Special School

Are you a trained teacher and would you like to work with students with special needs?

We are seeking as of 1 October 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter, a teacher for a fixed-term substitute position. The position is a full-time role in our lower primary.

Dybkær Special School is Silkeborg Municipality's educational and leisure-time provision for children and young people with severe general learning difficulties. The school receives students from Silkeborg and the surrounding municipalities. About 135 students attend the school.

The students' learning difficulties are predominantly general in nature, and a large share of the children have complex disabilities, which require an understanding of using, e.g., alternative communication strategies.

Educational framework

"It is Dybkær Special School's central task to help strengthen and develop the students academically, socially and personally. Dybkær Special School shall constitute an educational framework for the students' formation and education, so that each student in the school's daily life experiences liveliness as a person and citizen. When a student attends the school, they can expect to be met with recognition and respect.

The student is naturally included in communities and encounters a safe and structured everyday life. Teachers and pedagogues formulate and plan in collaboration a meaningful day for the student, based on the student's prerequisites and needs."

The close interdisciplinary collaboration between pedagogue(s), teacher(s), assistant(s) and other staff helps to ensure the best conditions for the students' academic, social and personal development. Thus learning takes place at different levels and in different situations throughout the student’s day”.

Your profile

• Is a trained/qualified teacher.
• You will have teaching tasks across all subjects in the lower primary, in close collaboration with your colleagues.
• Are curious about your own practice and always see the child's potential.
• Have the desire and skills to plan, implement and evaluate teaching for the target group.
• Have the desire to work in special education.
• Have the desire to acquire knowledge about - alternative communication forms (including ICT-based communication aids, Sign to Speech, PODD, PSAS, picture communication).
• Have the desire to, and passion for, teaching in a cross-disciplinary team.
• Can provide personal care for children and young people with extensive disabilities.
