About the job

Are you passionate about working with students who need something special – and do you have a focus on safety, action, care and respect?

Then it could be you we are looking for for the Full-day Classes.

You will become part of a strong community where we work purposefully to create a safe, developing and meaningful school day for some of the students who need it the most.

About the Full-day Classes

The Full-day Classes are the Municipality of Middelfart’s offer to generally gifted children with socio-emotional difficulties. The students need a special educational learning environment where structure, relationships and clear adult support are essential for their well-being and learning. For the students in the early years, there is after-school care (SFO).

We work purposefully with

  • strengthening students’ emotional regulation
  • creating opportunities for participation for all
  • supporting both academic development as well as personal and social well-being.

We are also in the process of developing a shared pedagogical foundation, where the Municipality of Middelfart’s view of children forms the basis for our practice. Active participation opportunities for all, mentalization, low arousal and co-teaching are key words in our work.

The Full-day Classes are located in Vejlby near Middelfart in scenic surroundings, which are actively involved in daily life and provide good opportunities for varied learning and well-being activities.

Each class has a fixed team, where

  • all subjects are covered in collaboration
  • we work with a shared structure and direction
  • safety, action, care, respect and mentalization are keywords
  • team collaboration is strengthened with binding agreements in team contracts
  • an extended school–home collaboration is a valuable part of the work.

We offer

  • a developmental workplace with high pedagogical ambitions
  • a close and well-functioning collaboration between teachers and pedagogues
  • a school in development with a focus on common direction and pedagogical quality
  • opportunity for personal and professional development in a strong work community
  • an engaged staff group with a focus on well-being and learning.

About the positions

We are looking for on-call substitutes who

  • are interested in – or have experience with – children with special needs and socio-emotional challenges.
  • can engage in close collaboration with pedagogues and teachers
  • actively and positively contribute to a good working environment
  • enjoy being with children and young people and can contribute with presence.
  • are calm, patient and can maintain an overview.
  • can create a structured and predictable framework.
  • are reflective about your own role as an adult.
  • contribute positively to the working environment
  • understand the importance of documentation and clear communication.

We place particular emphasis on that you

  • are good at relationships, treat children with respect and curiosity and have an affirming view of children
  • are flexible regarding age groups and subjects
  • are resilient and stable, as our students are vulnerable to changes in adults
  • thrive in a daily life with varied and changing tasks.

In addition, it is an advantage if you

  • perhaps are on the way to a education as a teacher, pedagogue, psychologist, social worker or similar or have a background in pedagogy, special pedagogy or psychology
  • have knowledge of working with students with socio-emotional challenges
