About the job

Do you like working at the crossroads of systems and personal service, between classic library work and modern research support? Do you thrive with diverse tasks over the course of a workday? Then we may have a job for you at DIIS.

About DIIS

DIIS is an autonomous public research institution – established to strengthen independent research, analysis, reporting, and information activities in Denmark on international affairs within the foreign, security, and development policy area.

We prioritize a high degree of presence, but to support a healthy balance between work and private life we offer flexible working hours and the possibility to work from home two days a week.

Our offices are conveniently located close to Østerport station, about 2 km from central Copenhagen.

About the job

We are seeking a temporary employee in a one-year position to handle tasks within

  • Research registration
  • Information and literature search for our own researchers and external users
  • Teaching, guidance and maintenance of library systems
  • Procurement, cataloguing and administration of books and journals
  • Preparation of statistics and management information
  • Advice on Open Access, copyright and contracts

Your profile

You have a relevant professional background, e.g. Librarian DB, Cand.Scient.Bibl./Cand.IT., Library Science and Knowledge Communication or Information Studies. It is an advantage but not a requirement if you have experience from working in a research institution.

We value that you

  • Have a high level of IT and system understanding
  • Can work with structuring and analysis of data
  • Have experience with the systems Pure and Alma
  • Have worked with Open Access and preferably also with copyright

We do not expect that you can do everything from the start, but a strong professional foundation and an open and curious approach to systems and users are a prerequisite. You must also be approachable and helpful, able to work independently and systematically and be good at collaborating with others across disciplines. You must be able to communicate in both Danish and English in writing and speaking, as DIIS is an international workplace where the working language is often English.

We offer

  • A 30-hour-per-week temporary position as an information specialist
  • A varied workday in a small but important research library
  • An international environment where you daily collaborate with researchers from around the world
  • Flexible and family-friendly working conditions – with opening hours from 9.00-16.00

You will join a small team rooted in the communications department with kind colleagues and a cozy and informal working tone. We help each other solve the library’s tasks

Salary and terms of employment

You will be employed in accordance with the applicable collective agreement for academic staff in Denmark. You will depending on your qualifications and experience. The annual full-time income (37 hours a week) will therefore be between DKK 442,529.00 and DKK 465,485.00. The amount excludes pension. Pension currently is 18.07% of the pensionable salary.

In addition, there is the possibility to negotiate a personal qualification supplement depending on your experience and skills.

The position is available for occupation from 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Application

The application must be received no later than 18 November 2026 at 12.00.

The position can only be applied for via our recruitment system, Emply.
