We are about 18,000 employees in the police, where about two-thirds are police officers and cadets and the rest are civilian staff. We are all deeply committed to ensuring that the national community is a safe and secure place to live – whether we work with operational readiness, prevention or investigation, or contribute with one of the many other important functions in the police.

The Police Authority is the police's top authority and has overall responsibility for the 14 police districts and the National Unit for Serious Crime (NSK). We ensure that the police have the right framework for police work and development. We stand behind good leadership and education. Behind service weapons that match the task.
