About the job

We are seeking a colleague for a permanent position of 19.5 fixed hours per week, with the possibility of extra shifts in the morning, evening and on weekends.

As a lifeguard- and gus master with us you will be an important part of daily life in both the swimming pool and the wellness department. You thrive with responsibility and with making independent decisions – whether it concerns safety, service, cleaning or practical tasks.

Together with the team you will be responsible for

• Contributing to safe and secure environments for guests
• Creating good and positive guest experiences
• Being a fixed part of the gus team and organizing wonderful gus evenings
• Actively taking part in the house's daily chores and tasks

As a lifeguard with us your tasks will primarily include

• Being visible and present in the swimming pool, grosser bath and changing areas
• Welcoming guests with warmth and providing good service
• Informing guests about rules and hygiene requirements and preventing safety issues as well as ensuring good water quality for all
• Performing cleaning, daily maintenance and practical tasks so the house looks inviting and well-kept
• Actively contributing to a good working environment and a strong collegial community

You will also be trained in our ticket/reception, where we help and warmly welcome guests and contribute with practical tasks.

Shift plan

You will become part of a fixed, varied shift plan that may include day, evening and weekend shifts.

Your fixed shift plan will initially be

• Monday: 15.30-20.30
• Tuesday: 16:30-20:30 (every 3rd Tuesday)
• Thursday: 14.30-22.00
• Saturday and Sunday: 08.00-16.30 (every 3rd weekend)

In addition we anticipate that you will have the opportunity to take extra shifts in case of illness, holidays and peak periods, both morning, evening and weekend.

About Badeanstalten Spanien

Badeanstalten Spanien is an iconic and historic swimming hall from 1933, located centrally in Aarhus.

The building houses

• Three pools (swimming pool, children and baby pool as well as spa)
• Wellness department, grosser bath with sauna, spa baths and steam baths

We have many different guests during the day – from babies to seniors – and a everyday life with both high tempo, calm, stories and life.

Practical about the job

Start date is 14 December 2026.

We offer voluntary training leading up to the lifeguard exam as well as thorough training in the role as lifeguard and gus master. This will run from 14/12 and December onwards, so you are ready for start in your fixed shifts on 2/1-2027

Your profile

Your educational background is not the most important. We place engagement, responsibility and a desire to contribute higher than experience.

Requirements

The position presupposes that you can pass the professional lifeguard exam on hire and then once a year thereafter.

We naturally provide thorough training and support leading up to the exam.

To be prepared for the job it is a requirement that you are available and flexible from 14 December 2026, when we expect to start training and the lifeguard exam.

Salary and employment terms

Salary and terms of employment will be in accordance with the applicable collective agreement (collective agreement for technical service KL, FOA - Trade and Labour). Final salary is determined after negotiation and based on qualifications.

Salary: minimum 162 DKK/hour plus evening and weekend allowance.

Weekly fixed hours: 19.5 hours

With expectation of flexibility to take more hours when needed.
