Roskilde Baths are seeking lifeguards

Roskilde Badet is a popular swimming pool located in Roskilde, offering a wide range of facilities and activities for children and adults. We place safety, cleanliness and customer service high to ensure a positive and safe swimming experience for our guests.

About the position as lifeguard/technical service employee: Your workday as part of the “red team” will consist of several varied tasks; supervision at the pools, teaching, water- and wellness activities as well as cleaning tasks. We are a large team of employees who focus on ensuring our guests have the best possible swimming pool experience. Our ambition is to improve together and to make Roskilde Badet a place that guests want to return to, and where employees are happy to be.

It is a requirement for employment that you can pass the commercial lifeguard exam in our 50-metre pool, which is 3.8 m deep. But there is an opportunity to train with our skilled judges.

Responsibilities

• Perform lifeguarding and lifesaving first aid in case of emergencies
• Monitoring of pool areas to ensure guests’ safety
• Active participation in cleaning activities in the swimming hall
• Supervision of facilities and equipment to ensure they are in good condition
• Participate in training activities and continuing education, including taking the lifeguard exam and first aid course annually

• Willingness to, and perhaps even experience with, teaching in various water- and wellness activities

• Weekday shifts are: 05:00-13:30 and 13:30-21:30. On weekends the shifts are from 07:00-14:00 and 12:00-19:00.

Shifts run on a 3-week cycle, where you have a morning week, an evening week and finally a mixed week with two days off and then work on the weekend.

When employed by Roskilde Municipality we will obtain criminal record and a child-safeguarding attestation as well as references.

There are three lifeguard positions available.
