Lifting, Pulling and Lashing Technician for the Danish Defence Maintenance Service in the Region of Southern Denmark, Haderslev

We are a dynamic department that, in close collaboration with the Danish Ministry of Defence, Agency for Defence and Logistics, and our customers throughout the Defence, performs inspections on all of the Defence’s Lifting, Pulling and Securing Equipment.

We comprise 34 employees, distributed in Korsør, Aalborg, Skive and Haderslev.

The position

The tasks include among other things registration, labeling, inspection, approval and feedback of LTS equipment within the rigging gear, including shackles, wires, slings, chains, workshop cranes, ladders, jacks, fall protection equipment, lifting tables, car lifts, personnel lifts, loading hooks, vehicle-mounted cranes, hook hoists, mobile cranes, lifts, vehicle-mounted winches and special vehicles in the Defence.

The work is performed in accordance with public regulations and the Defence Maintenance Service’s quality requirements. There will be travel of several days duration both domestically and abroad.

Your primary duty station will be in Haderslev. But it is possible to report to a Defence establishment centrally, from which you will depart in your provided Crafter. This could be in e.g. Oksbøl or Skrydstrup.

About you

You are skilled within the metal trades and ideally have a training as a truck mechanic, blacksmith, mechanic or machinist. A journeyman’s certificate must be attached to the application. We prefer that you have worked within the trade within the last 5 years, or in a similar position such as a traveling installer.

You are quality-conscious and meticulous in daily work, and you are able to work systematically. You are capable of independent task execution. It is important that you have a high work ethic and good teamwork skills, as you must work both independently and in teams.

Since the tasks may involve driving in connection with the duties, a category B driver's license is an unconditional requirement. If you do not have Category C, this must be obtained shortly after employment. CE and forklift certification are desirable.

You must be prepared and willing to engage in ongoing training and course activities in connection with your work.

Employment terms

The employment is in accordance with the current General Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees’ Organization – The State Sector (OAO-S General Agreement) and the Crafts and Technicians’ Agreement.

Depending on your qualifications and competences, there is a possibility for negotiating a supplement. There is an employer-financed pension scheme associated with the position.

The workplace is in Haderslev.

As an employee under the Ministry of Defence, you are subject to certain special terms. You must, among other things, be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance throughout the employment.

You, as an employee, have a duty to perform service outside the country, including at units in international operations with a view to participation in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacebuilding, humanitarian and other similar operations.

ABOUT THE DEFENCE MAINTENANCE SERVICE

The Defence Maintenance Service is a quality-management and safety-conscious service organization that maintains, repairs and modifies the Defence’s materiel. Part of the organization is today ISO and occupational safety certified, which is expected to be rolled out to the entire organization. The authority employs about 1,700 people.

The Defence Maintenance Service consists of a Maintenance Division with six maintenance areas geographically distributed across the country, and a Planning and Coordination Division located in Brabrand. The six Maintenance Areas are specialized in repairing, maintaining and modifying specific materiel systems within their professional column.

The Planning and Coordination Division consists of a Business Department and an Operations Department, which handle coordinating planning, training, management, controlling and development of the Defence Maintenance Service. In addition to repairing and maintaining the Defence’s materiel, the Defence Maintenance Service supports Defence operations and missions with well-trained military technical personnel who are loaned to Defence units according to agreed planning or ad hoc in special cases.
