Now we are looking for a Mainframe / COBOL Developer who will help further develop and future-proof one of Bankdata’s most business-critical solutions.

Become part of a business-critical team

Purpose

As a Mainframe / COBOL Developer you will become a central part of POW – Mandate Team , which develops and runs a solution that is essential for banks’ daily business. Your role is to ensure stability, quality and further development of the solution – while contributing to modernization and new integration opportunities.

Context

The mandate solution handles more than 80 million API calls per month and is a cornerstone of the banks’ infrastructure. The team works closely with other development teams and subject-matter specialists across Bankdata and continuously balances secure operation and development of new features.

Your role – development, operations and modernization

Your contribution

• As a Mainframe / COBOL Developer, your primary areas of responsibility will be:
• Development and maintenance of COBOL programs on IBM z/OS
• Working with DB2, including SQL, performance optimization and data modeling
• Contributing to technical analyses, design and debugging in complex solutions
• Ensuring stable operation and high quality in a high-volume platform
• Close collaboration with colleagues who develop related services on modern technologies

The first 6–12 months you will

• Gain deep understanding of the mandate solution, the domain and the business-critical processes
• Take an engaged part in development, maintenance and stable operation of the solution
• Contribute to modernization initiatives and new integration and event-driven needs
• Become an integrated part of the team’s collaboration, workflows and culture

Your profile – skills that create stability

• Have experience with COBOL and IBM mainframe (z/OS) – DB2 is a plus
