Make a difference for young people with special needs – become a pedagogue or a pedagogical assistant at UUC Maglemosen

Are you eager to become part of a dedicated and ambitious team at a youth education and activity offer in rapid development for young people with both physical and mental challenges?

We are experiencing an intake of more youths and are therefore seeking pedagogues or pedagogical assistants for full-time positions of 37 hours, with start as soon as possible and preferably before January 1, 2027.

Your main tasks

• To support and motivate the young people/users in daily life with a view to making each individual as independent and competent in their own life as possible
• You will share responsibility for carrying out pedagogical activities, communication training, care and nursing tasks such as diaper changes, hygiene, and more
• The work is team-based and you must be interested in working across professions with among others teachers, physiotherapists and occupational therapists, kitchen staff, as well as social and healthcare assistants
• You will become part of a fixed team that primarily works 1:1 with the young people attached to the team. You are not alone in the group, but your role requires that you are good at working independently and find joy in working with the individual resident
• Working hours are between 8:00 and 16:00 on all weekdays, as well as a weekly team meeting until 18:00 (or possibly in the morning). A common staff meeting is held ten times a year until 18:30.

Your competences

• You are positive, flexible and focused on high quality in the core task
• You have a pedagogical education
• You can work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary team, but can also work independently
• You have experience with the target group of young people with disabilities
• You must be able to handle challenging behaviour, have patience and thrive in tasks that can be repetitive
• You have experience with special pedagogy, mentalization, neuro-pedagogy and low arousal
• You should be able to develop activities that give the young people life skills and influence.

Who are we

UUC Maglemosen is a dynamic and development-oriented youth education and activity offer for around 100 young people aged approximately 16–30 years. Our target group consists of young people with general learning difficulties, mobility impairments and/or communication difficulties. Our work is based on creating the best possible conditions for their development, learning and participation in the community.

The youths are distributed across lines and in smaller groups.

The youths are offered teaching and special pedagogical development activities in either a 3-year STU program or in a § 104 offer. Both offers should help mature and develop the individual.

Employment process and salary

The starting date is as soon as possible or no later than January 1, 2027.

We always hold two interviews with candidates. We expect to hold the first interview on an ongoing basis and no later than November 6, 2026.

2nd interview takes place on November 10, 2026 from 9:00 to 13:00

The position is initially 37 hours and is a permanent position.

We offer salary and employment terms in accordance with the collective agreement for social educators or pedagogical assistants in municipalities.

Employment is conducted according to the principles of local pay setting and after agreement with the negotiating organization.

The salary range for the position as a social educator is 36,285.85 DKK – 42,103.13 DKK per month before pension for full-time employment (37 hours per week).

The salary range for the position as a pedagogical assistant is 32,497.38 DKK – 35,925.46 DKK per month before pension for full-time employment (37 hours per week).

The final salary is set after negotiation between the employer and the trade organization that holds the right to negotiate in the relevant collective agreement area. Salary depends, among other things, on your education, documented seniority and qualifications.
