Make room for good experiences in a woman's daily life in Birkerød

Do you want to combine presence, practical support and small outings? We are seeking a caregiver for a cheerful and outgoing woman of 54 who needs your help with daily activities and personal care.

About the task

A trip to a thrift store, a museum visit or baking at home. The woman enjoys experiences and friendly company and meets others with a smile and good humor. She also enjoys nature, movies and series and is very attached to her small dog.

You help her have a daily life with activities that match her wishes and energy. She has a brain injury and becomes tired quickly, so you must be able to adapt the pace and make room for breaks. Her speech is affected, and she needs time to find her words.

She uses a wheelchair, has difficulty lifting her legs and has reduced sense of touch in her hands. You help her eat and hold the glass when she drinks, as well as with toilet visits and diaper changes. There is a lift and an aid for standing transfers at home.

You also support her with exercises for arms and legs in the home gym. She also receives physiotherapy three times a week.

About you

You are a social and health care helper or unskilled with an interest in a role where companionship and practical help go hand in hand. You preferably have experience with personal care and use of a lift.

You meet her openly and warmly, have humor and give yourself time to listen. You can take the initiative for activities and at the same time adapt the plans when her energy calls for a calmer day. You must be prepared to help with personal care and be comfortable working in a home with a small dog.

Working hours

The position is 20 hours per week, distributed Monday to Friday from 12:00–16:00 or 13:00–17:00.

You will become part of a family-owned company with many dedicated employees. You have a fixed advisor you can always get guidance from. Outside office hours there is always a staffed emergency phone, so you are never alone. Salary and pension in accordance with the National Agreement for disability assistance in citizens' own homes (minus BPA) entered into between FOA and Dansk Erhverv. You are covered by DUOS’ liability and occupational injury insurance and health insurance is part of your pension scheme.

You will receive relevant introduction and ongoing upskilling - and you will inevitably develop yourself both personally and professionally when you work with people with us at DUOS.
