About the job
Do you want to strengthen your legal skills and come close to the political processes that shape the effort to help unemployed people into work? Then perhaps you are the one we are looking for.
About the office The Office for the Labour Market is an office with 22 employees who help set the political and legal framework for the employment efforts for job-ready unemployed people. The office is responsible, among other things, for implementing reforms and drafting rules about the employment efforts for unemployment benefit recipients and job-ready social welfare recipients. We especially work with contact pathways in municipalities and unemployment insurance funds, job-focused upskilling, and company-oriented initiatives. We also collaborate with authorities and stakeholders in the area.
The work ranges from drafting bills and administrative regulations to answering legal inquiries and contributing to the handling of the minister and the Parliament. We also advise municipalities and unemployment insurance funds about the rules and their application. You will become part of a strong professional environment with lawyers and colleagues with other professional backgrounds, where you will get sparring and the opportunity to develop your legal competencies.
Your tasks You will become part of the office’s daily operations and solve both legal and administrative tasks. This includes, among other things, helping with:
- drafting drafts of legal responses to inquiries from municipalities.
- administrative tasks in connection with bills, executive orders and guidelines – e.g. drafting royal decrees and contributing to the formulation of rules.
- preparing drafts for cases to the minister and the management.
In addition to the legal tasks, there may be coordination and administrative tasks, where you might, for example, help to continuously update the rules on our website.
About you We imagine that you are pursuing a legal education as stud.jur., stud.soc.jur. or stud.merc.jur. You do not need to know the employment area in advance. The most important thing is that you are curious and eager to learn new things, gain knowledge of the area, and develop your legal competencies.
A student job at STAR A student job at STAR gives you the opportunity to practice your legal skills, including the use of legal methods, and to gain insight into both the legal and political work in the state. You will have the opportunity to apply your study knowledge in practice and learn from experienced colleagues. You will also become part of a good social environment with several student assistants and the possibility to participate in professional and social activities across STAR.
Your well-being and development are important to us. Therefore you have an annual employee development interview with your manager about your tasks, collaboration and your wishes for the future, which will be followed up during the year.

We would like you to start as soon as possible and no later than 1 January 2027.
You will be employed as a student under the OAO-S joint agreement and the organizational agreement for office clerks, laboratory technicians and IT staff (HK) in the state service. It is a condition of employment that you are enrolled at a higher education institution and are an active student.
Your workplace is the Danish Agency for Labour Market and Recruitment, Vermundsgade 38, 2100 Copenhagen Ø.
