We are seeking an engaged pedagogue for a maternity-leave vacancy of 32 hours per week, starting on December 1, 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Welcome to Mariehønen – who are we

Mariehønen is a small, well-functioning private kindergarten with 44 children, 6 pedagogues – including a leader with child hours – and 3 assistants. We are located in a cozy, old two-story villa on a quiet side street off Falkoner Allé in Frederiksberg.

As a private kindergarten we have freedom to shape our own pedagogical practice. We are committed to creating a everyday life that makes sense for our children and prioritize presence and time for immersion over documentation for the sake of documentation.

For us, relationships are the foundation of everything we do. We believe that children thrive and develop best when they are met with care, recognition and security, and we adapt our everyday life to the children’s curiosity, interests and individual needs.

We have many cozy traditions and recurring projects, but no fixed weekly plans that control everyday life. We follow the children’s initiatives and make room for both spontaneous activities, shared experiences and the magic that can arise when children are allowed to immerse themselves in their own play universes.

What can you expect from us

At Mariehønen you become part of a working community where we help each other, share ideas and take joint responsibility for the children’s everyday life.

You will be attached to a fixed team with another pedagogue and an assistant on one floor. At the same time, it is important to us that we all see ourselves as part of the whole house and contribute to the community across both floors.
