About the job
The Armed Forces are facing a significant development in the coming years. This includes, among other things, new maritime acquisitions and the development of the existing fleet.
Therefore we are seeking five new colleagues for the Maritime Capability Center (KAMA). We are looking for several technical profiles, among others:
- ship engineer / naval architect
- mechanical engineer or marine engineer with knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration technology
- electrical engineer, electrical installer, marine engineer or another relevant education with a strong electrical background.
About us
At the Maritime Capability Center we work with the Defence Forces' maritime materiel and capabilities. We contribute to procurement and development of the solutions that the Navy and the other maritime units of the Defence Forces will need – now and in the future.
Our area includes the Navy and the Royal Danish Marine Rescue Service, and we also provide technical assistance to the Coast Rescue Service and the Danish Emergency Management Agency under the Ministry of Social Security and Emergency Preparedness.
We solve the tasks in close collaboration with among others users, design houses, shipyards, class societies and the Navy's internal authorities division.
About the position
As a colleague in KAMA you will use your technical knowledge in work with both new ship acquisitions and the existing fleet. You will become a professional sparring partner within your area and take responsibility for concrete materiel systems and technical tasks.
Your tasks depend on your professional profile and experience, but you will, among other things, do the following:
- advise and spar with colleagues, users, suppliers and shipyards in Denmark and abroad
- follow specific materiel systems from procurement through their life cycle
- have technical responsibility for concrete tasks
- conduct technical supervision of projects, including new-building projects.
We place emphasis on high professionalism and quality in task execution. You will also have responsibility from the start and the opportunity to shape how you solve your tasks.
Your work helps ensure that we can deliver equipment on time – in peacetime, crisis and war.
As an employee of the Ministry of Defence's Materiel- and Procurement Agency you will be part of a workplace where technical decisions have significance for the Armed Forces' operational task execution.
We prioritize professional development and knowledge sharing and use each other's different competences in task solving. There will be periods with many different tasks, and we also focus on a good work-life balance.
You should expect around 20-50 travel days per year to, among other things, shipyards and suppliers in Denmark and abroad as well as the fleet bases in Frederikshavn and Korsør.
About you
You are educated as an engineer, marine engineer, installer or have another relevant technical education. You may be a recent graduate or have several years of experience. If you have experience from the maritime field, industry or seagoing service, that is an advantage.
You will collaborate with users, colleagues and external partners. Therefore you must be able to communicate technical issues clearly and understandably and be good at collaborating across disciplines.
You can keep an overview of several tasks at once and take responsibility for moving them forward. At the same time you must be able to work in a politically led organization where priorities and needs can change.
It requires that you can adapt to new frameworks, take initiative and use your professional knowledge to find solutions when the task changes.
Employment terms
You will be employed under the then-current collective agreement.
Depending on your qualifications and competences, there is the possibility of negotiating allowances. There is an employer-financed pension scheme linked to the position.
The workplace is in Ballerup or Frederikshavn.
As an employee under the Ministry of Defence's area you are subject to certain special conditions. You must, among other things, be security cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout the employment.
You have as an employee the duty to perform service outside the country’s borders, including at units in international operations with a view to participation in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peace-enforcing, humanitarian and other similar operations.
