Material Manager for Høvelte Supply Center

About us

The Danish Defence Supply Service is a modern logistics company and a central actor in the Defence's supply chain. We support the Ministry of Defence's Group with the delivery of all types of supplies and logistical services. We deliver logistics on time to all Defence users with the greatest possible precision.

Supply Center Høvelte in North Zealand is part of the Supply Department, delivering supplies directly to the Defence's deployed units and soldiers – deployed in operations either here at home or abroad. Supply Center Høvelte mainly serves units and users in North Zealand, in Høvelte and in Greater Copenhagen.

At the Supply Center we are a team of 35 colleagues - both civilian and military staff. Collaboration and shared decision-making are natural parts of everyday life. We maintain a fairly informal tone and place a high value on our professionalism as well as the ability to provide a very good and reliable service to our customers.

About the position

As equipment manager you will handle the daily operations of the munitions store at the Supply Center. This is done in close collaboration with the center's deputy commander.

You are the central point for the munitions store's many tasks; you support the staff of twelve employees in daily administration and, not least, in their task execution. You also participate in solving practical logistics and warehouse tasks.

The position places great demands on your personality, your ability to plan the task solution for a team, and that you can keep a cool head under pressure.

We place great emphasis on sparring and high professionalism in performing the tasks, and we are always good at helping each other, also across the different teams. In addition, we have a very good collegial environment with room for differences.

About you

We would like you to have an education as a warehouse and logistics operator, and that you have experience in team leadership.

We would like you to have already completed at least 1 mandatory and 1 elective course from the academy education with a focus on leadership or other relevant education at a comparable level. If you do not already have this, you should be ready to take this education within a period of 3-5 years.

In the munitions section we have a high degree of customer contact – both in connection with counter service during opening hours and in relation to dispatches scheduled at other times. Our team behind the munitions section is, in most cases, the face of Supply Center Høvelte.

The position thus places requirements on your personality and your ability to actively participate in the team’s task solving and planning, as well as to maintain an overview when things get a bit hectic.

Responsibility and quality are fundamental values for the Defence, and we expect you to work to take responsibility for contributing to shaping the tasks you are given.

We expect you to put energy into your work, to be engaged and proactive, and to enjoy collaborating with others, but when necessary, also to be able to work independently with the assigned tasks.

You will join a team of experienced and skilled craftsmen, where it is natural to help and support each other, and where the effort is partly measured by customer satisfaction.

You have a driving license for category B and preferably for forklift (Certificate B).

You are able to express yourself in Danish both spoken and written, and you are an experienced IT user. It is desirable that you have education in SAP, but it is not a requirement.

Terms of employment

Employment is in accordance with the current Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Teachers’ Union and CO10 – Central Organization of 2010 and the Organizational Agreement between the Defence Personnel Authority and CO10 and the Central Association for Clerical Staff for civilian employees under the Defence Ministry’s authority within the Central Association for Clerical Staff negotiations area (formerly the Defence Civil Service).

Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is a possibility for negotiation of supplements. The position includes an employer-funded pension scheme.

The workplace is in Høvelte.

As an employee within the Defence Ministry’s area you are subject to certain special conditions. You must, among other things, be security cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout the employment.

As an employee you are obliged to perform service outside the country’s borders, including at units in international operations with a view to participating in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacemaking, humanitarian and other similar operations.

About the Defence Supply Service

The Defence Supply Service became part of the Operational Support Command on 1 January 2026, which is a staff that plans, coordinates and partly manages logistical operations across the Defence and develops the logistics area and setup in line with Defence development.

The Operational Support Command consists, in addition to the staff, of four authorities with their own distinct tasks. The Defence Maintenance Service, the Defence Medical Command, the Defence Supply Service and the Joint Movement and Transportation Organization.
