About the job

Center for Psychiatry and Substance Abuse seeks staff for psychiatric physiotherapy intervention

Do you want to help strengthen social psychiatry in Skive Municipality with an offer to citizens who have bodily complaints and expressions rooted in their mental illness? Then you have the opportunity to become a psychiatric physiotherapist in the Center for Psychiatry and Substance Abuse.

Mental illness can manifest itself physically for some citizens in the form of, for example, pain, tension or a lack of body awareness and coordination. To better assist this group of citizens, we offer programs with psychiatric physiotherapy.

The target group’s citizens are typically referred for support under § 82b or § 85 in the Danish Service Act, but there will also be a few citizens referred with a rehabilitation plan under § 140 of the Health Act. We offer time-limited programs of 3-6 months for the individual citizen.

We are looking for a skilled physiotherapist with experience and interest in working in the psychiatric field to help citizens with complex psychiatric-physical challenges. You will have the opportunity to help shape the position and the way the psychiatric physiotherapy programs are organized.

Your tasks as the center’s psychiatric physiotherapist will include

  • Programs of psychiatric physiotherapy for citizens who have bodily symptoms with a background in their mental illness. This includes an initial examination of the citizen, planning of a relevant program using methods from psychiatric physiotherapy, and the practical execution of the program
  • Collaboration with the center’s other staff and authorities to ensure a coherent and holistic support for the citizen
  • Sharp and precise documentation of the work with the citizen in our professional system Nexus
  • Contributing with physiotherapeutic expertise in the center’s work with the rehabilitative effort
  • Collaboration with our 24/7/overnight care service about programs for their citizens with a focus on preventing lifestyle-related diseases and psychiatric physiotherapy

We can offer

  • An organization with professionally engaged and flexible staff
  • A good working environment where mood and helpfulness are key concepts
  • Possibility for interdisciplinary sparring as well as supervision with an external supervisor.
  • Possibility for monodisciplinary sparring/supervision in a network with colleagues in similar positions externally

We are looking for a person who

  • Is a trained physiotherapist – possibly with further education within BBAT and ROK.
  • Has experience and interest in working with the psychiatric field.
  • Has energy and drive to further develop our offerings
  • Works independently and purposefully with planning and implementation of professionally well-founded interventions
  • Is a good sparring and collaboration partner both internally and externally
  • Is interested in keeping up to date with professional developments in the field
