About the task

We are seeking staff for the team around a client who needs attentive support and a recognisable daily life. The client is nonverbal and does not have spoken language. This places special demands on your attention to body language, expressions and signals and on your ability to adapt communication.

Your main task is to create safety through a stable relationship, presence and a daily life that takes the client's needs as its starting point. The client can occasionally respond outwardly, but this is not part of daily life. You must therefore be able to remain calm and work proactively and in a de-escalating way according to common professional agreements.

You work most of the time 1:1 with the client, but in a house where there are also colleagues. The task therefore requires both that you can work independently in close contact, and that you actively participate in the collaboration toward a common professional direction. We emphasise that you see the person behind the need for support and appreciate both small advances and the good moments in everyday life.

Your everyday life with us

• Create safety and predictability through presence, relationship and clear structure.
• Support the client in daily routines and activities with respect for wishes, needs and boundaries.
• Be attentive to nonverbal signals and adapt your communication and approach.
• Work preventively and in a de-escalating way according to shared professional agreements.
• Document observations and pedagogical actions and contribute to shared reflection in the team.

We are looking for someone who

• Is trained as a pedagogue, nurse, pedagogical assistant (PAU) or has a similarly relevant social- or health-related education.
• Has a valid driving licence for passenger cars (category B).
• Preferably has experience with nonverbal communication and individually tailored support, as well as with working preventively and de-escalating conflicts.
• Can maintain an overview and work patiently, even when interaction becomes challenging.
• Is stable and responsible and understands the importance of continuity in relationship work.
• Can follow a shared pedagogical approach while also reflecting on your own practice.
• Contributes to respectful collaboration and takes an open and constructive part in professional discussions.

Melius Husene should primarily be a home for our residents. A place where you are met as the person you are, and where your own wishes, needs and boundaries matter for daily life. With us, the resident should not have to fit into a predetermined box – we organise the support and daily life around the individual, rather than expecting the individual to fit into a ready-made offer.
