About the job

Are you a trained teacher, and do you want to be part of an ambitious staff group with high engagement?

We are looking for a Danish- and class teacher for one of our 7th grades. You will hold the form teacher role together with an experienced and skilled mathematics teacher in the class. Danish should preferably be combined with English, history, Christianity education and/or physical education. Start as soon as possible or no later than January 1, 2027.

The school uses two-teacher periods for co-teaching. We work in a vertical team structure from 6th-9th grade. You will be attached to one team that covers several year groups.

Community, trust, respect, mastery and joy

The School on Islands Brygge is a well-functioning school on two sites with a primary school for 0.-5th grade on one site and 6th-9th grade on another site at Artillerivej 130 with focus on using the surrounding outdoor opportunities in the form of city, harbour and commons. You will therefore help to create the future lower secondary, where we think outside the box to create the best learning for the students.

The focal point of the school is our core values - community, mastery and joy, trust and respect. We work from a positive and appreciative view of humanity, which gives everyone the opportunity to participate and take active part.

We organize our work in a model of team organization, where we collaborate in a vertical structure, so a basis is created for the children's interlearning and friendships across ages, and you should be interested in contributing to this development. In the team, there is collaboration on annual plans, and planning of teaching and activities across classes. The well-being of the individual student and of the classes as a whole is a joint concern across the year group and in the department.

We work with flexible planning in the teams, so the timetables form the basis for holistic teaching, theme-based courses and high academic quality.

In the upper primary we are looking for a teacher who is passionate about exactly that student group, and who can meet the students with humor and recognition. In the upper primary there is good collaboration in the department and close team cooperation. There is a focus on the relationships between students and between students and teachers.

At Skolen on Islands Brygge we focus on academic achievement, but also on the students' diverse and social well-being. Therefore we emphasize theme- and project-based teaching, democratic formation and communication as part of the school's evaluation culture. The school is located close to Amager Fælled, the harbour and the city, so we also value off-site activities, and activities across classes and year levels.

We offer

  • a ambitious staff group with a high level of engagement
  • good collaboration in year-group team and department team
  • students who thrive and want to learn
  • a parent community with engagement and interest in the school
  • good physical surroundings with opportunities for varied teaching

We expect you to

  • be a trained teacher
  • can act as a catalyst for students’ learning and well-being
  • be pedagogically ambitious
  • see a connection between subject knowledge and creativity in all subjects
  • have good collaboration skills

You fit best at the school if you are

  • outgoing, positive and upbeat
  • an inspiring colleague and teacher
  • team- and development-oriented

Employment terms

The position is covered by the “Agreement for teachers etc. in the public schools and Copenhagen Municipality” and the “Working hours agreement for teachers in the primary municipal public schools and Copenhagen Municipality.” Remuneration will be according to current agreements between Copenhagen Municipality and Copenhagen Teachers’ Association. This is a permanent appointment.

In connection with the employment we will obtain a children’s and criminal record certificate as well as references. Remember to upload your CV with your application indicating subject competencies and relevant experience as well as documentation of education.
