About the job

Do you want to help create safety, stability and development for a young person with special needs?

At Myagergård Knoppen, which is part of Botilbuddene Nordenfjords, we are seeking an experienced and engaged pedagogue for our specialized solo project under Myagergård.

We are looking for a colleague who is passionate about special education work, and who can see the value in small progress, the strong relationship and the persistent effort.

About the target group and the task

Myagergård works with young people aged 12-18 with complex psychological, social and behavioral challenges. The youths may, among other things, have ADHD, cognitive difficulties and attachment disorders.

At Knoppen we work in an individually tailored solo project, where the pedagogical work is based on the individual youth's needs, resources and development opportunities.

The task requires a high degree of structure, predictability, relationship skills and professional perseverance.

You must be able to stay calm and maintain an overview in challenging situations and understand behavior as a way to communicate needs, frustrations and feelings.

You will become part of a closely collaborating team, where a shared professional direction, loyalty to agreements and ongoing reflection are essential to succeed with the effort.

Our professional approach

At Myagergård Knoppen we work with the following methods

  • LA2 – focusing on well-being, prevention and de-escalation of conflicts.
  • NUZO – focusing on development through appropriate support and challenges.
  • DPU – as a tool to understand the youth's developmental level and to plan the pedagogical intervention.
  • Mentalization – focusing on understanding one's own and others' feelings, thoughts and actions.

We believe that all people have development potential, and that behavior should be understood in the context in which it arises.

We tailor the intervention to the young person – not the young person to our system.

The work is based on individual treatment plans, clear goals and close collaboration with colleagues, management and our psychological consultant.

We expect you to

  • Have a pedagogical education or other relevant pedagogical education and preferably experience with the target group.
  • Have experience with youths with complex psychological, social or behavioral challenges.
  • Preferably have experience from residential facilities, supported housing or specialized solo projects.
  • Can work independently in a 1:1 relationship while also loyally joining a team.
  • Are calm, clear and persistent – even when the work becomes challenging.
  • Have a high degree of self-awareness and can reflect on your own role in the interaction with the youth.
  • Can work in a structured manner and follow common agreements and treatment plans.
  • Can document your pedagogical work in writing.
  • Have a flexible approach to working hours and are willing to work at varying times, including weekends and holidays.
  • Have a driving license for a standard car.

As a person we value that you

  • Meet other people with respect, curiosity and acknowledgment.
  • Are relationship-strong and can build trust over time.
  • Have patience and can see development in even the small steps.
  • Can maintain your professionalism and calm in emotionally demanding situations.
  • Contribute positively to collaboration and the work environment.
  • Are open to sparring, feedback and professional development.
  • Understand the importance of continuity, recognizability and shared pedagogical practice.

We offer

  • A meaningful job where you have the opportunity to make a real difference for a young person.
  • A specialized pedagogical environment with high professionalism.
  • A close team collaboration with a focus on shared direction and development.
  • Professional sparring and possibility for supervision.
  • A workplace where reflection, relationship work and professional development are highly valued.
  • An organization where the individual youth's needs are the central point of the effort.
