Nature and Environment - Furesø Municipality is looking for a student to assist with communication about the district heating rollout

District heating is being expanded in Furesø Municipality. The work affects many people, and there needs to be information about the ongoing construction projects. We therefore are seeking a student assistant who is ready to help with rapid and citizen-oriented information.

In Furesø Municipality there is currently particular busyness, because district heating is being established in several areas of Værløse at the same time. It creates situations where clear and precise communication is the best way to reduce the chaos it will always cause when roads are being dug up and closed

We are therefore looking for a student assistant – preferably a communications student – who will try their hand at a multifaceted information task, spanning from communication strategy and communication plan to direct responses to citizen inquiries. You will help coordinate citizen inquiries about district heating, assist with information directly to residents, newsletters and ongoing updates on the municipality’s website, etc.

You will become part of the Nature and Environment Department with 13 employees and 2 student assistants, who work broadly within nature, environment, soil contamination, groundwater and drinking water, wastewater, rural land, protected areas, EIA (VVM), waste and heat planning. We are a small municipality where there is not a long distance between professional groups, and where cross-disciplinary collaboration is an important part of the culture.

Who are you?

We imagine that you are pursuing a longer higher education with a focus on communication and have at least 2-3 years left. You want to try your hand at communication tasks in a public administration, and work in a politically led organization.

You thrive in office work where you help shape the communication that takes place. You work with a good mood, have a focus on the goal, and help ensure that we collectively arrive at good solutions. As a communicator you are able to understand the recipient’s mindset and you articulate well in writing and speech – regardless of the target audience.

It is most important that you want to work with communication in connection with the spread of district heating, as the expansion is significant for our climate plan’s opportunity to reduce CO2 emissions for the benefit of the environment.
